Grooms Crying

I think it's really touching when a groom cries at the wedding. My FH claims he will not cry. Did your husband cry? If not what was his reaction?

I'm hoping there will be tears from him. I know I will be a hot mess.

I think it's cute but I don't expect it from my FH ... Haha and I think it's wierd that grooms get pressured to get all emotional. We all express emotion differently and I know that he loves me to the moon and back just the same if he cries or not!

I honestly don't know! I do imagine he will but in also think he will keep it together. I can't even see me crying, tbh!

Mine got choked up, which really surprised me, cause *I* hadn't gotten choked up or cried, and he's much less emotional. Probably saved his life, too-- we'd written our own vows, and I forgot mine, so had to improvise. Well, he decided to improvise and started with, "I love your boogery sneezes..." and I was ready to whack him with my bouquet! But then he went on to talk about how much he loved me, and got all choked up-- so I forgave him and did NOT kill him. Smiley sexy

I kind of hope he'll cry, at least get choked up, because he is very placid and not a huge emotion shower. Most of the emotions he shows me are always when we're one on one, even the proposal was out of public view. I think if I told his friends/family how sweet and genuine he is when we're alone they'd think I was lying. He's just so... stoic.

I really have no clue what to expect from my FH. We've been together 12 years so I've seen him cry many times, but I know that regardless of whether he actually cries or not, I will know how much the day means to him.

My FH won't either I've never seen him cry. It is so touching though I've seen some of the most unexpected grooms cry and it almost brought me to tears

For my first marriage we both cried, the best man cried and the pastor cried. It was a terrible marriage and we divorced 5 years later.

The moral: don't put to much pressure on your fiance for expending emotion publicly. It doesn't mean anything if he does or doesn't.

That being said my current fiancé is pretty emotionally neutral so I expect no tears and I am good with that. I did however tell him he needs to have a pleasant expression/smile.

My FH will cry and he admits it. I probably won't cry. But that doesn't mean I'm not as excited/happy.

I hate crying. If he cries, I'll have to about-face and get the hell out of there.

I have only seen my FH cry a couple of times - mostly just when talking about his best friend that passed. And he did get a little misty when we watched "the fault in our stars" so there is potential.

I thought for sure we would keep it together and that it wouldn't be an emotional day until I started writing his pre-wedding letter to go with his gift... I was BAWLING as I was writing it. I'm hoping he tears up when he reads it and during our first look. Now I know I'm going to cry, easy.

@Kathryn, I am embroidering hankies for my mom, dad, and fmil. I'll also make one for FH and probably me. I'll hold mine behing my bouquet, and FH will keep his in his pocket.

I didn't think so, but now I'm not sure! He's a "manly man" and never shows emotion in front of others, but he was at work when I told him my dress came in and had to go to the restroom, so others wouldn't see him get choked up lol

I don't expect my FH to cry at all. He is not emotional. I have seen him cry 3 times over the course of our relationship. I think the photos are super sweet, but I won't even get my hopes as far as FH's tears are concerned. If he did cry everyone would be floored. It just ain't in him.
