Grooms outfit color

Sydmxo11, on May 14, 2024 at 5:14 PM Posted in Wedding Attire 1 16
My fiancé is very adamant on wearing an emerald green suit. The bridesmaids will be in sage green and the groomsman will be in a tan beige color. Would the emerald suit look good or is he better off getting a sage green tux? I don’t know I’m just scared it will look tacky with him in a really dark suit

It seems that emerald green could work. A darker shade of green is better than him matching the bridesmaids color. What color did he pick out for you to wear? I just put that question there to make a passing point. Hopefully you work it out well to be happy on both sides. It makes some sense to let him "stand out" more uniquely as the groom in the wedding, especially as he envisions himself in the wedding.

Is the olive green a color you both are happy with -- if able to find that color tux?

It's totally understandable he wants to stand out and wear something a bit brighter than the groomsmen. Olive green sounds nice, or he can look for softer dark greens like eucalyptus. They may be a bit tricky to find, but they're out there!

I wore an ivory white, my girls wore mint green dresses, groomsmen wore black tux with mint green vests and tie. My husband did an all black tux/white shirt to stand out. Maybe he could try on a different type of green or perhaps a darker brown. Good luck

If he’s set specifically on an emerald tux, then that’s his call and you need to coordinate with him on that. He’s got as much right to pick the colors as you. But if he’s just wanting to make sure he stands out, then maybe you could look at a dark green that coordinates a little better with what you’re already planning.

Of course he has much of a right to pick the color. He picked the whole bridal party color & the main color of the wedding. The thing is that I already asked me girls months ago & they already bought all their dresses in sage green & now he’s back & forth on which color green to buy or what color his men should wear as he still hasn’t asked his groomsmens yet & it’s to late to go back to a different color for the wedding.

I’m not sure why you’re acting angry I didn’t know information you didn’t include in your post. We can only comment based on the information you provided. How far out is your wedding? I’d say your problem is less the specific color and more talking to your fiance about when decisions need to be made.

I’m sorry if you took my comment the wrong way. Never meant it to portray out like that at all. I guess I just made this post to find ideas as to what green would go great with the wedding party color that has already been set & stone.

I think the emerald green suit would look fantastic, especially for an autumn wedding! Sage and emerald green look great together- I’ll attach a picture of a sage and emerald wedding color palette below. You could have the men in classic black suits with sage ties (to match the bridesmaids) and he could wear a black tie (to match his groomsmen). if you prefer a lighter color for the groomsmen, his original idea of a beige suit could look nice also.
