Groomsman Vs Groom-Tuxes-SAME OR DIFFERENT?

We chose the same tux but different color ties.

The chick at Mens Wearhouse suggested FH's tie/vest should match my dress (ivory), and the GM's ties/vests should match the BMs (champagne).

I like your suggestion...and that's what I'm doing too! We really loved the way the black tux and the black vest looked together. He is going to wear a white tie and the groomsmen will have a white tie.

That's what we did! They had the same tuxes, the best man had a black vest and a black tie, and my DH had champagne vest and tie. It looked fabulous.

We're having them all wear the same tux, but FH is going to have a silver vest and tie, and the groomsmen are going to have a purple vest and tie.

We did same tux, different vest/tie. FH wore an ivory vest/tie to match my dress and the GMs wore cognac ties/vests because cognac was one of our wedding colors. (The BMs wore our other color - wine)

Yep they are Cate They are wearing dark purple dresses, so the Groomsmen will match them!

Fh has the same everything as the groomsmen except for the vest. his is black and the groomsmen is red.

The GMs had simple black tuxes, while DS had a red vest and tie. All had DIY pinwheel bouts.

I think what you are doing is great! We are doing something similar - FH will be wearing a white tie to match my white dress and the groomsmen will be wearing orange ties to match our wedding colors. The BMs are wearing pink dresses, since our colors are pink and orange. I love the idea of the groom standing out from everyone else.

Ednabug, I love the white/cream colored jacket, we discussed doing that as well, but are most likely going to stick to black on black. But it does make your DH stand out and it is his special day as well, and that why I really like the idea to have the groom in something a bit different then the groomsman.

I also think I am going to have my groom stand out...it just seems like the more obvious choice to me. We got our BM dresses and my gown from DB and we are going to Men's Warehouse tomorrow, so I'm sure they will give us all sort of ideas!
