Groomsmen attire (bow tie/suspenders/khakis/white shirts)... should they buy their own?

Justine, on June 6, 2018 at 11:05 AM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 6

For our groom/groomsmen attire, they are wearing suspenders with matching bow ties, white shirts and khaki pants. I know where I want them to get their bow tie/suspender sets (they're online) but I want to be sure they all at least have the same color khakis and shirts that are the same material. What would be the best way to go about this?

We are renting the attire from Men's Warehouse. All of the Groomsmen are paying their own. I am matching my bridesmaid colors to the groomsmen tie and pocket handkey. I would say they all should match.

    Hey!

If they are responsible enough to go online and purchase themselves I would have your FH send out the website information along with the color/fabric and price. If not I would say you or for FH to buy the ties/suspenders for them and they can reimburse you. My BM had to place their order of their dresses at the same time so they can have the dresses cut from the same fabric due to colors and fabrics can be slightly off. You can also have GM set a day for all of them to go to stores to try on shirts and khakis for sizes and then order online.

    Good luck!

My fiance said the best groomsmen gift he got was the clothes he had to wear. It's a bit boring of a gift but it saved him from having to pay for clothes he would not necessarily wear again and he said he has never used the other groomsmen gifts he got from other weddings like a flask or cufflinks. Its boring but practical as guys tend not to care about this stuff as much.

I would find a cheap pair and just tell them all to order that pair (Macys or Kohls might help) or find a pair you want them all to rent, if it's important the color be the same! Same for shirts.

Watch Kohl's for sales and coupons too! Got my bridesmaids gifts there for ridiculously cheap (earrings that were originally over $100 for less than $25 each)
