Groomsmen attire for dusty blue colors?

Bailey, on October 24, 2019 at 8:20 PM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 23
Hi ladies! So my wedding is in December and our colors are mainly dusty blue and dusty rose, along with other blues and pinks as accents within the color spectrum. My bridesmaids are wearing these beautiful dusty blue dresses and I love the color, but we are having trouble figuring out what the groomsmen should wear? I don’t want to over do the blue with navy tuxes but I also don’t want to do too much gray because the dresses have a very gray undertone. Should we just stick with black tuxes? I’m fine with that because I’m very simple and classic but my FH is less traditional and likes more color/uniqueness. Thought about dark charcoal but just not sure what to do especially with tie colors too. We are stuck on what to do especially for a winter wedding! Any advice??

Here are some pictures of the girls — the dress looks different in each lighting which makes it hard to know what it’ll look like for sure in photos and such!

I agree that the navy would be too much blue, but I like the dusty blue with gray or charcoal. I personally don't feel it is too much gray, but if you aren't happy with that then don't go with that. As for the ties, what about a tie that is dusty blue and dusty pink to incorporate both color? Since it is a winter wedding, what if you had the girls wear shawls to break up the color more and give it a more winter vibe? The shawls would also help keep them warm which is a plus.

I would do a darker gray or charcoal gray. Azazie has ties to match the dresses you can look in to.

I love these ideas! I definitely want to do shawls as I think that will help a lot with the colors as well as warmth, and I love the idea of ties with both colors because so far we haven’t brought in the pink as much as I’ve wanted to. Thanks!

I personally like the navy with those colors. As long as you have enough of the rose color and greenery you should be fine. I think grey will just make everything look “flat” and not pop but that’s just me.

That’s how I’m feeling about too much gray as well. If we do go with anything gray I think it would be a much darker charcoal gray. Right now my FH is liking the idea of him wearing dark charcoal and his groomsmen wearing black...He told me he wants to do something different and I want to leave most of it up to him since he’s excited about it but I’ll step in if I have to

Omg I’m having the same colors and even one of my BM have the same dress! Haha, I’m just going to do a medium gray and bought some bow ties from azazie so they kind of match them. The “fun” touch that I did was getting a bow tie with small polka dots

We are doing something like this! But ours is rustic so not sure if it will go with your theme?

and I think it would look nice with your girls dresses and you can change the color of the bow ties! And stuff! But I love this color

Well I thought it was light haha. Here’s a pic and it looks more of a medium gray. I think it kinda actually pulled the *blue* out of the dresses. We used azazie as well.

This looks so pretty, and you’re right I think it does help the blue of the dresses pop instead of looking more gray which I had been worried of. I love this!

Yeah I’m excited we’re doing burgundy with this since we’re October 4th and that’s a good fall color. But the blue would look nice with your dusty blue colored dresses which are beautiful btw! 😍

We are doing dusty blue dresses and the guys will be in navy. I disagree that it's "too much blue". Navy is basically a neutral, I think. We are doing more of a light dusty blue though.. so maybe that makes a difference.

I think either is fine honestly! We didn’t use dusty blue but we used a light bluish green color that the guy at the tux place also recommended would look better with gray tuxes, especially because we had a late spring/early summer wedding, buuuuut my husband and his groomsman (who came with us to the store) were both super set on the traditional black tux and I think it looked great! I really feel like you can never go wrong with a black tux.
