Groomsmen Gifts

Amanda, on August 3, 2021 at 7:46 PM Posted in Community Conversations 1 11
Is it me or are the only gifts out there for Groomsmen knives and alcohol related? I have 2 adult groomsmen and my 2 sons (16 & 14)... And I'm not really sure mature aduld men want a pocket knife... That leaves alcohol related... Is there anything better?

My husbands groomsmen were all really outdoorsy. We got them custom colored hydro flask water bottles and had their name engraved on them. For the dads and our officiant we got them all watches! You also don’t need to get the all the same thing, you can pretend your shopping for their birthday and just get them something cool they are interested in.

Not that this helps you much with your sons, but we got our GM gift cards to Omaha Steaks. You could do a watch - my brother got one in *two* weddings. Remember they don't have to be identical either. Video games or sports related things for your sons?

I had a similar post. Someone commented and said you don't always have to do something wedding related like most of the manly man things are pushed to be. She said you can basically shop like it's their birthday. Whatever each person is interested in to make it more personal. Good luck!

My FH's groomsmen all play DND. He got them dice in our wedding colors and a coaster that holds dice. I've also seen (besides alcoholic things & knives) coffee mugs, fun socks, compasses, watches and even grilling tools.

You can gift people whatever you want, and I think personal gifts mean more than something some marketing couple labeled as a traditional groomsmen gift. Ideally the gifts are unique to the person receiving them and are something they would enjoy. It's a gift, not something that needs to have anything to do with a wedding.

Of course there are better gifts then Knives and liquor. And you don't have to get Groomsmen gifts from the Groomsmen shop (lol). You can pick out gifts from other places, you just need to ask around different stores to find better gifts for the Groomsmen.

I'm just so stuck bc 2 of our groomsmen are our boys... 16 and 14 by the time we get married... I feel like I might be over thinking this a bit... I asked my mom what her thoughts were and my 6 year old heard us talking and told me to get him paw patrol... I think I'm getting paw patrol for my ring bearer

Shop like it’s their birthday. What are they into? Sports, movies/music, camping, cooking, something else entirely?

I was having a hard time with this when we did our proposals. I opted for the personal touches and praying they loved it. I did customized shot glasses for the men and customized water bottles for the ring bearers. We got the ring bearers ring pops, slime & some cool security sunglasses as well as their bow tie for the big day. The men got their bow tie, an airplane bottle, a customized bottle opener for their keychains, (I did all customizations with my Cricut), customized coozies, & cool socks for the day of the wedding. They loved every bit of it! For an extra touch we got the best man a flask set which I also customized

We did watches for our groomsmen. I think 14 and 16 year olds could also enjoy watches and they could certainly keep them as keepsakes for a long time. Smiley smile

I agree that you should shop like their birthday. You don't have to get anything stereotypical.
