Groomsmen Gifts?!

Glam0rous, on October 15, 2015 at 3:36 PM Posted in Community Conversations 0 39

I am having the worst time trying to find a groomsmen gift that is realistic and fun. What are you all planning on getting your groomsmen?! I am going to do some beer glasses and etch their names on them (yes I am attempting this myself) but don't know what else to include.

HELP! You all have such wonderful ideas!

My brother got his GM personalized flasks and a nice bottle of whiskey. Every single one of them used it--especially while they were getting ready/waiting for the ceremony and reception to begin!

Mad props for trying to do that yourself! We got our guys a beer caddy complete with a built in bottle opener that I will be personalizing and an engraved coffee cup. (Don't ask.. FH ordered them before I could say anything. Upside they're big coffee drinkers so it will be useful)

We are thinking about doing personalized golf balls and golf tees since our groomsmen like to golf. I have seen where people have done Yeti tumblers, their favorite sports team shirts, or a welcome gift related to the certain area that your wedding is in. Best of luck! Love the beer glass idea.

We did personalized bbq cooking utensil kits and then I found wallets in the coach outlet for a really decent price.

@NenaBear -- My first attempt actually went well. But the stickers I bought didn't stick well so I need to get new ones. Where did you get the beer caddies?!? I like that idea!

@Paige -- where are you getting personalized golf balls and tees? We are having a DW with a golf course on the resort and the guys are super excited about it so that seems like the perfect idea!

I was going to get them flasks but thought I am already doing the glasses so two drink things didn't seem right. I LOVED the swiss army idea too but can't take those with us Smiley sad Smiley sad

    ETA: Spelling.. as usual

My DH saw engraved hatchets and thought it was hilarious. I don't think a single one of his groomsmen have a practical use for a hatchet, but they loved them. I don't get it.

We're giving each one a beer glass, and a nice cigar. All of the GM are beer and cigar fans, so its perfect.

I told my FH to start thinking now, but I've also come up with a list of ideas. FH isn't a big drinker, so all the alcohol related options don't seem like a fit. I'm thinking monogrammed dobb kits (toiletry bags), tie clips, the ties they'll wear for the wedding, superhero cuff links, Legos (they are basically all nerds), or socks. Possibly some combination of these, but not all of them.

Our GM are an adult and two of FH children (age 9 & 12h. The typical gifts don't work for all of them. BM doesn't drink, so no drinking related items. He does smoke, but we don't want to promote that, so no gifts related to that. What we decided on was a personalized lunch bag (thermal) from 31 Gifts. It's something he will definitely use in the future. Now to figure out what to do for the kids!

Our guys are very country, redneck and honestly I don't think they even know they'll be getting gifts. LOL. FW knew she wanted to get them something but she had no idea what to get and asked me to handle it.

They are all getting personalized flasks, work knives kind of like the ones they already carry for work, a hoodie with tux imprint on it for getting ready and then two of them will get personalized snapbacks while the other will get a personalized belt buckle because he's not a hat person.

I wanted to do all cute matching beer mugs like that. But honestly, guys don't care about cute matching gifts like girls do. DH shopped for them all individually and got them things that ranged from a shirt of their favorite sports team to piano music books. He let me wrap them matching though.

DH was in our cousin's wedding and he got each GM a 6 pack of their favorite bottled beer, a pair of socks with their favorite sports team (worn for the wedding) and a book. DH's book was about the "Bro Code" by Neil Patrick Harris. Not sure if everyone got the same book or not.

The mugs are cute, but honestly DH has one from a wedding and it just collects dust in a cupboard. If you do decide on these, I definitely wouldn't put "groomsman" and the wedding date. Nobody wants something with someone else's wedding date on it. I would just do their name.

For ours, DH found these really cool combination flask/cigar holders. So they got that, a cigar and cuff-links with their last initial. All those gifts were inside this really cool box with their last name and a saying about friends being the family you choose. They were super heartfelt and DH was very proud of himself.

@Raelyn I thought the exact same thing about the groomsmen and date and I actually only did their names for that exact reason.
