Groomsmen/bridesmaid Pairing

Morgan, on April 4, 2022 at 8:49 PM Posted in Wedding Ceremony 1 5
So, we have a dilemma where one of our groomsmen is not responding to us. We are a little concerned that he’s not wanting to be a groomsmen and just doesn’t know how to tell us… frustrating, but we had one more groomsmen than bridesmaid because my two brothers are groomsmen. So my fiancé had 5 guys and I have 4 girls. The original plan was to have my two brothers walk his sister down the aisle.

If we do find out that he is not wanting to be a part of the wedding, it would mean that my sister would have to walk with one of my brothers… I guess I am just wondering if that’s going to be considered weird?

Siblings walking down the aisle together is completely OK. I've seen it many times. Just because people are paired to walk doesn't mean they have to be a couple or anything.

It would be fine to have them walk down the aisle together. We had married people walk down with single people and all just because they were who we wanted in our bridal party. It's ok whichever way it goes Smiley smile.

I don't think it would be that big a deal. Most everyone knows that there's a very good chance that the bridesmaids are not actually coupled with the groomsmen they walk with; in my wedding's case, that couldn't have been more true as six of our eight attendants were married, and the youngest groomsman was 16 where the bridesmaid he walked down the aisle with was in her 30s. From an aesthetic standpoint, I'd be relieved if that other guy drops out because then you're even! Before you make any changes, though, wait a little longer to see if you hear anything from this wishy-washy guy. He could have a lot going on, or maybe he's unsure of what his role in everything is.

It is not so weird at all to have siblings walk together down the aisle.
