Groomswoman

Kierstin, on May 9, 2018 at 11:31 PM Posted in Wedding Ceremony 0 14
My fiancé picked one of his good female friends as a grooms woman and I’m excited for that. She’s an awesome girl. Does it matter how down the aisle stuff works? She walks with a girl on my side or have the groomsmen & her already be standing there then have the moh and bridesmaids walk by themselves ?
Anyone ever done this one way or another ?

It wouldn't look weird if you had her walk down the aisle with one of your bridesmaids. I have a bridesman on my side, and he's walking down the aisle one of the groomsmen.

I have a bridesman on my side. We’re having the groomsmen walk down individually and then the bridesman will stand at the end of my side and therefor will be first in the the bridesmaid section of the processional so he’ll just kind of blend with the groomsmen. But overall, I don’t think it matters. With the way things are now, I don’t think anyone would bat an eye either way you did it.

Okay I didn’t think it would be weird and I don’t think my girls will care one way another. I’m just glad he picked her over a brother he has that he never speaks to or I’ve never met.

At my sister's wedding, 20 years ago, they had a groomswoman and a bridesman. The biggest concern was always their comfort level. I would recommend that guideline.
Things really only look awkward when people are uncomfortable. If she would rather walk herself and leaves a groomsman with a bridesmaid on each arm, no one will care. If however she's super uncomfortable to walk with another woman, more people will notice.

Just have her where the other groomsmen are, she's part of his wedding party.

Exactly, how are the other members of your FH’s bridal party walking down the aisle?

My FH has a best woman, so I'm planning on having her and my MOH walk separately, but I agree it depends on what they're comfortable with. I'll probably have all our wedding party members walk individually since one of his groomsman dropped out a few weeks ago, so now our sides are uneven.

At my sister’s wedding my BIL had two groomswomen. I was paired up with one, we walked arm in arm and everything the same as if you had opposite genders.

My FH also has a GW! and I have a bridesman, Originally I wanted them to walk down together. But he wants his GW to stand next to his brother (his Best man) so She will be walking down with the best man and my bridesman with one of the bridesmaids.
