What is the most effective way you’ve used to collect guest addresses for invites (if you’re sending by snail mail).

We pretty much copy and pasted a text to each household. It took less than an hour to reach out to everyone.

My family is pretty close(aunts, uncle's, cousins, etc)so we have a family get together atleast once a month. So I wrote down one person in every family & had them write their address for me. Luckily, FMIL had everyone's address on her side of family. Everyone else I sent a text or FCBK message so I could have it for later, if needed. I then went into Microsoft word & made a table with 2 columns. 1st collumn had the names of the household 2nd collumn had the address. I also did it by my side then FH side, that way it was in some kind of order & I could make sure I wasn't missing anyone.

Zola! So helpful. You can just generate a link to send them and they complete it themselves or you can add the guests with their phone number and it generates a text to send to them!

Send a large group text or email.

Personally, my mom and grandma had all that information so I just borrowed their address book lol

Our moms had some. Others we just reached out to via text or Facebook message. I then compiled all the addresses into an Excel spreadsheet. I actually was then able to give my SIL that same spreadsheet for her wedding planning with all the names and addresses of her side.

I asked people for their addresses when we were at family functions but I had to call and text people for their addresses. My mom and aunt to be gave me addresses of people they had. Then I added them WeddingWire. I also have an address book.

I started with my Christmas card list and my sister's guest list from 10 years ago LOL. Fortunately I only had to text 2 or 3 people to check on addresses.

Yeah, I was initially going to use this but have seen people write about some glitch where they get an email saying a guest sent info but then they can't see the info.

I like this. So you sent them the link via google sheet and it just populated easily for you, correct?

No, I just texted them and they sent it to me and I typed it in. I don't see people putting their addresses into a google sheet nor wanting other guests to see all their personal information.

It really wasn't that bad. We invited 225 people and between the two of us it took us about a week to get everyone's information and now we have it properly stored for future Christmas cards & things like that.

We made a private Google Doc & Facebook Event Page and sent it to everyone we are inviting asking them to fill out the form. About 80% of people responded and we had to chase down the rest via text lol.
