Guest Bringing Gifts to the Wedding

Rebecca, on February 26, 2020 at 7:45 PM Posted in Wedding Reception 0 13

Hi! I am curious for all of the brides out there that have already had their weddings... Do you have a guess of what percentage of your guests brought physical gifts to your wedding(vs sending something directly to your home from the registry or otherwise) I am planning to have a cards/guestbook/gifts table. Do I need another table just for gifts?

I think it depends on your guest list. We had roughly 180-200 show up and maybe 35% brought gifts over cards. We had one table for the guestbook/cards/gifts. Some gifts were placed underneath but it worked! I'd say it's not really a huge stressor.

We didn’t have any physical gifts brought to the wedding. But most of our guests had to travel and we had two showers and less things on our registry than guests invited. All gifts were either brought to our showers or shipped to our house and we received everything off the 3 registries before the wedding. Most people brought cash/check in a card to the wedding.

Of our 100 guests, I think we received 10-15 physical gifts at the wedding. Everyone else brought cards or had the gift shipped to our home prior to the wedding.

Out of my small guest count (25ish), not one brought a physical gift. All we got were cards with cash or checks.

Tough to say, but probably a know your crowd thing? In general though I don’t think a lot of people bring gifts—and if they do they’re hopefully not anything bulky so one table should be fine.

Out of 100 guests, I think daughter & SIL received probably about 7-10 physical gifts. They were all from their (younger) friends and tended to be relatively inexpensive items, like picture frames, a single set of towels, etc. All of the "older" type guests brought cards with checks.

No extra table needed. If you’re worried about it you. An have your Coordinator or a family member remove gifts if they get too full at the table and place them in a secure location. A lot of people will just bring cards though.

Most of ours were shipped to us but we did have about 5 gifts and maybe 5 cards that were brought to the wedding out of 65 guests that attended. We had our card box with our favors and those that brought gifts just sat them there or on the floor next to the table.
