Guest Globe

Haley, on June 18, 2015 at 8:44 AM Posted in Style and Décor 0 11

We have a travel themed wedding, and are planning on having a guest globe instead of a guest book, but I can't find a globe I like! I would like a more antique look, and something nice that we will want to display in our house afterwards. Has anyone out there used a globe as an alternative guest book? If so, where did you find it?

    Hello theme twin!

I don't have a large globe, I'm doing mostly small ones for centerpieces. However, I did find some that sound just like the ones you are looking for at Home Goods (Marshalls, TJ Maxx). If you have a World Market around you, that might help too.

I also found some just on Amazon.

Definitely Marshalls. Also, check out book stores (like Barnes and Noble) and other stores that carry Father's Day presents. Here in Canada all of them have globes as presents for dads right now. Maybe the Monday after Father's Day they'll be on sale?

Just a question, not mean to change your mind, but I'm assuming you're going to have the guests note somehow where they're from? How are you going to do that? Are all your guests pretty much from the same area? That could make it not so easy read?

@Maltese we initially thought of having people place a pin on a map or globe of where they are from since we have friends coming from a few diff continents, but decided it would look odd since a majority of people are from our home state.

We are just going to have them sign, like this:

And have a small sign next to it, like this:

Set up sort of like this:

Thats a cute idea then....If you were going to respond with something like the pin idea I was going to suggest a map of your home state and basically do the same thing. But the idea of writing on the globe is cuter
