Guest List

Hey All,
How did you choose to invite to your wedding? So far we have parents, siblings, grandparents, and our closest friends. That total comes to roughly 40 including us.

Both of us have a lot of aunts, uncles, and cousins. His immediate family is very tiny while mine is not. I feel like our wedding will be overrun by my family if I don’t figure out a compromise.

My wedding almost all my friends and family. He has a tiny family and his friends are military. Almost everyone on his side couldn’t or didn’t want to travel. I think that’s ok, invite who you want if he has the extra room on his list. I don’t think it has to be even.

I tried keeping my list current to people I’ve spoken to within a year or two

You’re getting married so now that’s his family too. I wouldn’t think of it as you having more attendants ... as long as you want them there and you guys can afford to have them why not invite them ? It doesn’t have to be “even”.

Decide who you can't imagine spending the day without. It is ok to have uneven sides.

Just because you're related doesn't obligate everyone to an invite, especially if you don't have a relationship with them. Sometimes friends are closer than family too.
