Guest list

Lesly, on May 13, 2022 at 4:02 PM Posted in Planning 7 6
So I’m having a hard time with the guest list total amount. we’re trying to keep it around 200/ 205 but
I was wondering if i had to count babies/toddlers in that number amount? Since most likely they won’t be needing chairs nor will they be needing a plate of food .
Plus if we don’t count them that’ll also help us reduce the guest list amount at the venues . Thoughts on this? Or any Suggestions? Thanks!

Venue capacities are based on fire codes, which include all people even vendors. Also I wouldn't assume toddlers wouldn't need a chair or a plate of food. Every toddler that we had at our wedding had their own chair and their own kid's plate. Both my kids could sit and eat regular food by the time they were 1.

Our venue is not charging for kids under 3, but they still count toward the capacity. So they might affect the head count but not the cost.

With all the planning I’m doing kids plates didn’t occur to me thank you for reminding me . ( my mind is all over the place) . Now that you mentioned kids plates , the place that we’re most likely choosing only offers adult portion plates from what I’ve seen on their menu .

Sounds like your best bet would be to talk to the venue on how they count children and toddlers for capacity/ per-head costs. Most likely, they'll still count towards the capacity.

Venues count all bodies toward capacity which are determined by fire codes. Catering, which is often separate from the venue, has their own criteria. Contact the caterer for clarification on what they do.

Don’t forget to ask the venue if they provide high chairs for the littles!
