Guest Parking

Ashley, on January 5, 2022 at 3:39 PM Posted in Planning 0 6

My venue is a hotel near the airport, since 90% of guests are OOT. As part of the wedding package, guest parking is $10, discounted from about $30, since it is an airport hotel after all. I don’t really like the idea of local guests opening their wallets for parking, so is there a practical way to handle this? Maybe reimburse them before or after via PayPal or Zelle, or something similar? Or should I worry about it at all since it’s a small percentage of guests and a significant discount?

If it's in your budget, I would check with the parking company, and see if you can prepay for tickets that you can send to the guests who RSVP "yes", or see if you can find a way for their parking bill to be added onto your wedding bill.

I would pay for this if at all possible. Ask the hotel how they usually handle this. I'm sure it's come up before for them.

I agree - i'd pay for this if you can!

if you can't, i can understand if it isn't in your budget but as a guest, i would be kind of annoyed if i had to pay for parking.

I definitely would not have my guest pay for parking upfront.

While most guests will arrange their own travel and transportation, try to cover the expense yourself if possible. Figure out what you can cut to be able to afford it: favors, welcome bags, welcome dinner, inviting all out of the area guests to the rehearsal dinner, after parties, photo booths, champagne, robes/pjs/jewelry for bridesmaids, a reception dress, a second wedding, etc.

Ask the hotel if you can pre-pay for your guests parking.
