This one definitely depends on your wedding plans, and whether you're having a hometown or destination wedding (or anywhere in-between)! What's your take on guest transportation? Is it an option the couple needs to provide? Or a very generous 'nice to have' splurge? Guest Transportation - Need to...

Both. I think it depends on the situation and location differences between the ceremony and the reception. Safety is important!

Hmmm... as a guest I wouldn't want someone else being in charge of my transport. And as a host, I'm avoiding this cost.

Since most of our guests are from out of state, we’re providing transportation to and from our wedding as well as to and from our rehearsal/welcome dinner. As well as separately for our bridal party for rehearsal and getting ready. You can rent a van and ask a friend or hire someone for the day because those transportation companies are super pricey.

For us our ceremony location would be in a national park and they charge a fee to get in the park and it wouldn't seem right to have the guests pay even more to go to ceremony location. So we would provide a shuttle so we only pay for 1 car cost not multi

Nice to have. This is very subjective to each wedding’s individual needs. Whatever makes the day runs smoothest!

I feel that for reasons of safety it's best to at least try to find room in the budget or else have a list of taxi companies at the ready for local guests. Drunk driving is an inexcusable crime and takes many lives so I think it's very considerate to allow your guests to have a good time + safely. Smiley heart

For us, 95% of the guests will be from out of town, out of state, and many out of country. So we'll be blocking rooms at a nearby hotel for them to stay at. Naturally, that means that we'll be looking into organizing a coach to take them to the venue and back to the hotel. I hope it won't destroy our budget but there's no real alternative... Smiley atonished

If your having and open bar and your venue/hotel doesn't provide shuttles or transportation - it is a need for your safety and your guests safety. Understandably, guests are responsible for themselves and should be aware when things start to get a little out of hand. But if the venue says that guests need to be out by 11 PM and the bar closes at 10:45 PM, that's not a risk I would want to take for my guests.

Nice to have. We have quite a few out of town guests. Due to the distance between the airport and the hotel/wedding, they'll have to all get rental cars regardless.

Nice to have. Most hotels that partner with the venues we have seen usually have some sort of shuttle service for the guests.
