Guestbook alternatives for a small destination wedding

Dean to Be, on August 21, 2013 at 3:31 PM Posted in Planning 0 9

So far, FH and I are expecting 14 guest at our DW. I assumed having a guestbook wouldn't be necessary but I do wish there was a way to have a written record of the guest who do attend. Does anyone have any ideas for guestbook alternatives? (FYI, we did the picture signing already at our wedding shower.)

What about just doing a small photobook on Shutterfly? Then you have a nice book of photos as a keepsake, but you could leave some white space for your guests to write you a message.

We had a destination wedding and we did mini postcards and a mini mailbox as an alternative to our guestbook. Our guests wrote us a little note, put it in the envelope and popped it in the mail box. They loved it, and we didn't read them until we got home so we loved opening our little mailbox and reading them later.

Etsy sell tons of different style mini postcards. Here's a link to one to give you an idea of it.

We had a destination wedding with 40 guests and instead of a guestbook, we had a beautiful hand-calligraphied Quaker Marriage Certificate made in a design to match or theme and colors. It had spaces for all of our guests to sign as witnesses in support of our marriage. We received a lot of positive feedback and we have since had it professionally framed and it now hangs in our home as a beautiful reminder of our special day and those who shared it with us

We are having a (kind of) destination wedding and will be having around 100 guests and I really love the guest book idea of doing a large wood letter of your new last name because people can sign it and then you will be able to hang it in your home!

How about a signature platter. My friend did this for her DW and gave me the idea. You can buy different sizes depending on how many guest you expect.

Here's a picture to give you an idea of what I'm talking about. Hope this helps.
