Guys wearing engagement rings?

It's definitely not the norm but I don't see a problem with it at all. I think it's awesome he has an e-ring! Does it have a stone or is it more like a wedding band?

I've never heard of a man wearing an engagement ring, but there's absolutely nothing wrong with it.

Its just a simple band. When we got engaged he switched our his promise ring with this one he has now. It just feels natural for him to have a ring on that finger. I always thought it was sweet too lol thanks for the reassurance ladies!

I don't think it's the norm, but I've definitely known men who wore rings prior to being married (I just don't think they had a label for what they called it).

But I love that your FH is challenging the norm and using the label that he thinks is appropriate (that's the only way to change things)!

I love it! I've never understood why women are expected to mark that they are "taken" and men aren't . I also think it's totally ok for there to be no engagement ring at all (for guys or gals). Anyone is capable of letting it be known that they are in a serious relationship and what stage that relationship is in, with or without a ring.

FH had an engagement ring as well (and a promise ring first). He lost both though lol, one at a friend's house and the other at work. Definitely getting our rings insured. While I don't think it's the norm, it's not weird or wrong in any way.

My friend proposed to her FH. He wears an engagement ring. She got a lot of backlash while trying to buy a band for him at the jewelry store. It's a shame people care so much about this.

I am super jealous because I am still trying to convince FH to wear a ring after we're married. He thinks it will bother him too much (like a physical nuisance not like a marriage-is-scary thing). So the "argument" continues... UGH lol

Jaime-Leigh, have you thought about the silicone band for your FH? Allegedly, they're really comfortable!

FH wears an engagement ring. He felt left out! When we did our engagement photos he was super excited to get to have his in the shots as well.

Sorry I think it's pretty stupid lol I wouldn't want my FH to have a ring yet ... we aren't married yet ... I wear my engagment ring but he proposed to Mei guess if a women proposed she'd five him a ring

I respect everyone's opinions, and I'm glad my FH isnt the only one. I agree that its totally sexist to say a man can't wear one.

When we bought FHs wedding band, he got another ring that he wears ever so often. Not a big deal n who does it hurt?!?

If he wants to wear it, I don't see a problem with that. I always have a weird idea about men wearing engagement rings because the only man I've ever known that wore one wore it because his fiance was extremely jealous. She would make him take photos during the day to prove he was wearing it and would even surprise him at work to see if he had it on. It was so weird.

Fine with me but I don't see it catching on with most men.

My FH wears his around the house occasionally. I told him that if he wanted to he could wear it as an e-ring but he wants it to be a special thing to only wear it outside once we are married.

FH wears one and he loves it - its more symbolic and has no real value (silicone) but its also for him to practice wearing the ring because he doesn't wear any jewelry ever

FH still wears his promise ring. I haven't heard of the idea of an engagement ring but I love the idea.
