Guys wearing engagement rings?

First thing I thought of was boy meets world!!

I've never seen it in real life, but I wouldn't think it super weird

In some cultures the men also wear an engagement ring. There's nothing stupid or weird about it. I think it's cool.

I saw it on boy meets world and he got joked for it but that's because society "decides" what's normal smh

Wow, it's really rude for people to tell you or your FH that a man having an engagement ring is stupid.

In many cultures, this is the norm. There is a teacher at my school who is Korean and has an engagement ring with bling. He's super proud of it and in his culture it is normal for both men and women to have engagement rings. Everyone congratulated him and complimented his ring. If someone said to his face that it's stupid or "girly", they would just be showing their ignorance. It's not a good look.

My FH wears his wedding band every now and again. Granted, it's to ensure he doesn't have an allergic reaction, but he's mentioned that he would like to wear it as an e ring too. We had promise rings before (he lost his a year before our engagement). I don't think it's weird. It's actually rather nice because it's hard to tell if a guy is engaged unless he says so. Guys can get compliments and congrats, too!!

Its not traditional, but his coworker has a lot of balls to get that nosey with him.

I know quite a few guys who started wearing their wedding bands before the wedding because they wanted a physical representation of the commitment that had been made in being engaged. I don't think it's weird at all- I do think it is more common in my generation then some others (I'm 28).

I mean it's a little "weird" in the way that you don't typically see that, but I don't think there's anything wrong with it at all.

My FH has an engagement ring and wears it proudly. Why should I be the only one who wears bling? So, I got him bling. After we're married, he's going to wear on the right hand and the wedding band on the left.

My FH requested one as well. So I got him a cheap one off amazon. I think it's sweet that he wants everyone to know that he's off the market. Nothing wrong with it at all!

Since I proposed, my FH wanted to start wearing his ring right away. It makes me suuuuper happy!

My FH has an engagement band that he plans to use as his wedding band!

I "proposed" to my fh with a wedding band a couple weeks after he proposed to me and he wears his even though we still have a year until we are married. He wanted to show it off and didn't want to wait a year so who cares!

Well we're ss but we're both wearing an engagement ring and will both be getting a band on our wedding day.

@Acacia I did the same thing! Agree with PP it's 2017 let people wear what they want to wear! Also assuming only women wear e-rings is quite heteronormative--what about same sex couples?

I honestly think it's a bit silly. My FBIL wears one and everyone in the family makes fun of it. I laughed as well when I heard because I had never heard of it before. In your case though, you had the promise rings, so who cares if he wears an e-ring? He feels special and that's all that matters! My FH put his foot down when I mentioned it lol although he does wear his wedding band every now and then because he likes it so much...I caught him today wearing it...he just wants to feel special too

My fiancé got a qalo ring and has been wearing that. Mostly to get used to wearing a ring. That and he thinks he should get to wear one too lol.
