Haaalp! Funny wedding vows, funny officiant speech?

My best advice is to let it flow naturally! Our ceremony included funny bits, but not exactly jokes— just our story, with all the brutally honest bits....including how we met (a kickball team aka sports for people who are bad at sports), a special shout out to the guy who convinced me to date H, and The story of how when he proposed neither of us knew which finger the ring was supposed to go on. Lots of laughs, nothing forced. It was a great sentimental ceremony !

I agree with a more natural, organic approach to the humor; as a guest, I'll enjoy a good storyteller who uses appropriate humor to tell the story much more so than a "comedian" who seems to be playing for laughs.

I played violin at a wedding where the groom was into science and he started his vows with a scientific history of a kind of bird which was something they’d see on their honeymoon. It took a minute to see how it tied in. But people were cracking up.

I wouldn't put purposely funny things in. It will seem fake. Let it play out naturally.
