Hair Accessories

I'm hoping to get some hair accessory opinions! I was originally not going to wear a veil and bought a hair comb that I really love and wore when I did my hair trial. Then, my friend surprised me with her veil to use as my something borrowed. It's a beautiful veil and although I originally planned on not wearing one I'm excited to wear this one now. But, I already did my trial hair and would prefer to not do a second one so I'm looking for some input on how to incorporate both the comb and veil. I already know I will wear my hair half up half down. But I'm undecided if I wear just the veil during the ceremony and try to switch it out with the comb for the reception, or if I somehow wear both the comb and veil then take the veil off for reception, or I just scrap the comb and wear only the veil for ceremony and nothing for the reception. I also plan on talking about this with my hairdresser closer to my wedding (I still have quite a ways to go) but thought getting some outside opinions might help make my mind rest easy in the meantime.

Thanks!

Possible idea for wearing comb on top and veil underneath, just not sure if the veil detailing would be lost if I wore it like this. Hair Accessories 4

Hmm, that's a tough one. I think the lace on the veil might compete with the beautiful flowers of the comb, and they might get a bit flat if the veil goes over the top of them, so I think I would leave the comb out when wearing the veil, then switch the veil for the comb after the ceremony is done. Basically, put the veil and the comb in the exact same spot and just swap one out of the other.

They're both so pretty, and what a lovely sentiment from your friend!

I think I'm leaning more this way too. You're right, the comb and veil together is too much to look at. It really helps to hear it from someone else, so thank you!

I agree with Rosie and think that's the easiest transition as well!! I'd wear the veil for your ceremony then switch it out for your beautiful hair comb for the reception! 💖

I would personally opt for the veil for your ceremony and switch into the comb for your reception.

I wore a veil for our legal ceremony (Covid "elopement") and then some hair pins for our "redo" wedding celebration with guests. I liked the look of the veil but it really wasn't "me" and was kind of difficult to manage in a practical sense (vs just taking creative photos with someone "tending" the veil so it would drape perfectly). I ended up so much more comfortable with smaller decorative hair pieces instead and was really glad I had a little something special to wear throughout the night for our longer event. I think wearing a veil for your ceremony and the comb for the reception gives you the best of both worlds.

Thanks Kari! I can definitely relate to liking the veil but not feeling like it is "me," but they're just so bridal looking! I hope my comb feels special during the reception like your hair piece did for you.

Thanks Lynne! I was originally worried I may mess up my hair by switching the two but the more I think about it the less I see it as an issue. Definitely think I'm going to wear veil for the ceremony then switch to the comb for reception as everyone has recommended 😊

I agree with Rosie and Lynnie. These solutions are the most suitable.
