Hair advice

Elizabeth, on July 25, 2019 at 1:56 PM Posted in Hair and Makeup 0 13
Alright. So I'm really trying to go out my hair for my wedding in October. And right now it is just below shoulder which is fantastic. Longest I've had it since high school (almost 10 years) but I hate long hair. It is so difficult to take care of. Mine is natural curly so in the summer months it is so heavy and hot and frizzy I cant stand it. I want to cut it off so bad. But I know if I cut it I won't be able to do what I want to my hair for the wedding.
I'm not sure what I should do about it.
Do I get it cut and regret it when I cant put my hair up for the wedding. Or do I suffer through the hot frizzy months of summer?
Any advice?

What if you do clip in extensions or something for the wedding?

I've never done extensions before, and never really thought about them. I'm not sure what the prices for that might cost or how they work. If that makes sense?

I am buying clip in extensions on Amazon for less than $40 and it is real hair so it can be washed, styled, and dyed just like normal hair. My hair is too thin to do what I want so my HMU person told me to just get clip ins.

Check with your hair stylist on this! Mine offers clip in extensions to "rent" for the wedding for 80 dollars, they will color match and I just return them after the wedding! I also used to wear clip in extensions in high school and I believe I got them around 50 dollars per pack, but they weren't super high quality or anything. Definitely look into this!

Why do you want long hair for your wedding? 10 years is a long time to have had shorter hair. I'm a little biased I love my short hair, would never even think of growing it out and I want to look like me in all my wedding pictures.

For sure look into extensions, but if that doesn't work for you, I say suffer through it as I believe it will be worth it. You can put your hair up in the summer and it's almost over! You've made it thus far, just a couple more months Smiley smile

I’m growing out my hair already for a June 2020 wedding. I’m sure by Christmas I’ll be going bananas and want to cut it... But I want long flowy curls. We’ll see if I make it or change my mind.

I have very similar feelings about my hair! It's mid back now, and I know as soon as I'm back from the honeymoon it's getting cut to above my shoulders. It was worth it to me to struggle through it. I ended up wearing my hair in a bun 9/10 days.

My hair is long and naturally curly, my go to in the summer is a messy bun or braided down the side messy bun in the back. Humidity is a killer for us curly girls. Hang in there.

I’m getting extensions. My hair is right at my shoulders and not very thick. So extensions are a must for me. Sounds like a good option for you so you can wear your hair how you want it now and for your wedding.

I've had long hair for all but about 5 years of my 23 year long life. My hair is naturally pin straight, and is just passed the middle of my back. Lately, it has been DRIVING ME NUTS. I want to chop it sooo bad but I'm waiting until after the wedding. I've just been rocking ponytails all summer long. 😂
