Many women are not comfortable or confident enough to do their own. Browse Instagram for your area for hair and makeup artists. “Your City hairstylist” in the search box.

If there are any cosmetology schools in your area, I would call to see if their students can provide services for your wedding.

You can always join a local wedding facebook group and ask the members for suggestions! I'm a part of one and they are so helpful with vendor recommendations - so much easier, and they tend to come with recommendations from someone who has used them which is nice, compared to hunting on your own!

Is your venue (or where you plan to get ready) near any salons? I found that the most affordable option in my area was to get my hair/makeup done at a salon, which is 15 mins away from my venue.

It wasn’t free, but it was only about $70 (not including tip) for both hair/makeup, which was slightly cheaper than their typical special event hair/makeup appointment, usually $90-120 (not including tip), depending on the complexity of the hair style and if false eyelashes are applied (I’m sure costs vary by city/state). I’ve actually had a few trials, as I don’t wear makeup very often, so I made sure to book them for my engagement photos and as a guest for another wedding. Two birds, one stone.

I was do stressed after so many attempts to find affordable hair and makeup for august wedding

I used the app thumbtack and found an a ton of available options. I had trouble with the ones on wedding wire being booked or too spendy. Good luck!
