Hair and Makeup Artist - Same Company or Separate?

How common is it to hire a makeup artist from one company and a hair stylist from another? I found a hair stylist I absolutely love, but she doesn’t do makeup. I also found a makeup artist I love, and her company does both hair and makeup. Would it be at all strange to hire the hair stylist I love and then the other makeup/hair artist just for makeup?

    Nope, not strange at all. I am actually doing this as well. I am having a Destination wedding (still in the U.S.) and I will be bringing my usual hairstylist with me, then hiring a make up artist there. My SIL had separate hairstylist and make up artist as well.

    Not weird! I found my makeup artist first, and he only does makeup. I then hired my hairstylist and while she does both services, I’m only using her for hair.

    I used separate vendors for hair and makeup as well. People do this all the time

    I actually couldn’t find one person to do both, so I hired a makeup artist and a stylist from my salon to do my hair.

    Nope not weird at all! Just make sure that neither vendor requires both services to be provided by the same vendor. Doubtful but I’ve seen it posted on the WW forums a handful of times.

    Yes I had two different stylists for hair and makeup. They worked well together.
