Hair and makeup cost

Lisa, on December 11, 2019 at 9:35 PM Posted in Hair and Makeup 0 37
I just spoke with the first hair and makeup company and I was blown away with how much it was going to be.

85 for hair and 85-120 for makeup. There is an all inclusive package (which includes my bridal party) for 1600.
Are these prices typical from what you all have heard and/or paid for your wedding?

I think that's about average, but it's still very costly

I think that’s a pretty good cost actually. I reached out to about 5 people MUA and hair stylists and the lowest was the same amount. Most of them were $150+ for just me

That is pretty accurate. For mine it was $75 for hair and $85 for make up. Also eyelashes were an additional $20.

Yeah, I guess when we were talking budget, never imagined this aspect costing as much as I'm finding out.

Oooh definitely sticking to my natural lashes, I feel like I'd be doing a lot of extra blinking lol I'm not used to any makeup.

400 for just you?! That seems crazy to me.
The 1600 covers 5 hair and makeup, spa services, touch ups, travel fee. It does include a lot but not sure if it's in budget, I'll have to take a look at some stuff.

I was quoted $700 for everyone in my bridal party (4 bridesmaids) and myself for hair and makeup. It included false eyelashes. They were phenomenal so I honestly was expecting them to be pricier. I'm only paying for myself though because it's totally optional if my girls want to get their hair and makeup done or do it themselves. That's the only quote I've checked on so far.

Those prices are average, if you are on a budget and good at make up I'd say do your own make up and pay for hair. Lashes make a big difference. The best most natural looking lashes I've ever found were eylure naturals lashes from target. Give them a test run!

My HMUA is $95 for hair and $95 for makeup and bridesmaids/other are $75 for each service. For me, 5 BMs and my mom thats $1090. $1600 seems like a lot unless you have a huge bridal party. For a smaller party, you should probably get individual pricing. But $85 seems reasonable. It generally seems a bit cheaper to use a service that does both hair and makeup. All the stylists I looked at who did only one or the other were $150+ for the service.

That's average and if anything it's on the cheaper end.

It depends on where you’re located. I’m in LA and my hair/makeup will be about 400 and bridesmaid makeup will cost 150 each. The price you were quoted seems very reasonable!

My hair & makeup was 350 total, bridesmaids hair & makeup was 140 total, and that was one of the lower costs I found after looking around (Nashville), so yes that is pretty average. That is one of the things about weddings, everything is more expensive then it would normally be. It is frustrating for sure! But, I would recommend looking around at other prices in your area just to be sure, as prices vary a lot depending on location.

I paid $240 for bridal hair & makeup and another $80 for my trial. Each bridesmaid & mom cost $140 for hair and makeup. I paid another $40 for travel and $400 for two extra artists.

That actually sounds cheaper than what I’ve heard from vendors.

My regular hairdresser/childhood friend is charging me $180 for hair & make up and $150 each for anyone additional (these are full prices, not discounted!)
