Hair and Makeup having to cancel 🙈

Hey ya’ll

Want advice! Did anyone book a hair and makeup artist because they did their friends wedding or someone they knew then went to do a trial and hated it? Then had to cancel on them? If so I wanna hear what happened! I kind of did that and the hair person answered back but the makeup artist didn’t and I feel like such a horrible person but now I’m nervous the makeup artist didn’t get my email and she’s thinking that she’s still doing my wedding or she’s just pissed which I get because it’s three months before. I emailed her twice one to tell her thank you for all your help but decided to go another way. I know it’s my fault for booking before a trial but the pressure of just getting someone and running out of time freaked me out. I just feel horrible because I do have a large bridal party (losing out on the money she thought she was gonna have, I did do a deposit but idc about getting it back) and I know they book a year in advance just wasn’t feeling it. 🙄🙈🙈🙈 I feel crazy definitely. sorry for my rant I just needed to write it all out

I get how you feel, I cancelled our photographer 4-5 months prior to our wedding date. I just think its too big of a day and too much money you're spending to use someone you don't like.

No they weren’t bad I just wasn’t into their style. I should have not booked and just did a trial. I was iffy at first but got so overwhelmed I just booked and now I regret it and feel bad. Already talked to the hair women she was so nice but haven’t heard back from the makeup artist. They both were working together so maybe the hair women spoke w the makeup artist I’m just worried she didn’t answer. Which I get she’s probably pissed but I just want a confirmation she won’t sue me or something idk! Lol

Did they care?! I’m just nervous the makeup artist will email me closer acting like nothing happened since she didn’t respond my friend said she’s probably just pissed which I get but like you said it’s a big day and I want to just be happy

I agree find somebody else girl... This is your day.. Everything is suppose to be perfect... My wedding is tomorrow.. I'm going to the mall to get mines done... I am so scared😒😒😒 least you actually saw the work, I'm going and getting it done and going straight to my wedding, I just pray the person that does it do a great job.

I don't think he really cared but I was a real baby about it and had FH write to him to cancel, even though they hadn't spoken before and he dealt primarily with me...lol. I mean its a business and I am sure they are annoyed but as I said, it's a lot of money and a special day, you got to go with your gut. Do you want to not feel your best just because you are scared you have hurt their feelings? It's not worth it...don't give it a seconds thought. And if she doesn't reply, in about 2 weeks just send another email saying that you want to confirm she has received it.

I wrote to her last week and didn’t hear anything so this week I said I just want to confirm and she never responded. I’m just feeling sick over it because I don’t want to have to deal with this situation occurring again right before the wedding if she never gotten my emails but I went and double checked her email lol. And I would do the same as you did have my fiancé cancel for me lol. I hope you were able to get some money back? And I hope you gotten s photographer you love that wasn’t booked

Well that's really unprofessional of her not to get back to you and in that sense should make you feel like you made the right decision. Do you have a phone number? Maybe text and say "did you get my email, I would appreciate knowing if you received it or not?" After that, well it's her problem for not checking her avenues of communication. She isn't going to just rock up on your wedding day bc you will have to have discussed a timeline prior to that. If she contacts you a month before and gives you grief about it, show your proof of communication. Honestly, this is her problem of either being rude and not responding or her running her business badly.
Sadly, we are not getting our deposit back...it's a $900 expensive lesson but I would rather pay $900 not to have him and have photos I love. And yes, luckily I found a lovely woman and we just did our engagement photos with her this past weekend and I feel relieved!

That is such amazing news and I’m sure you feel so much better! I was trying to be professional so I didn’t want to text her. She told me she was going away when I was doing my hair trial so I didn’t want to bother her with a text I thought it would be much better to email her. I did save the email just in case in my photos (screenshot it) but I didn’t want to have to text her, haha I’m losing sleep over this so silly I know 🙈I did find two people I love for my hair and makeup and am so happy. I just keep thinking what if this person comes back at me like you owe me all this money now I didn’t sign a contract like all the other newly booked artist I have now so I guess she can’t really do anything to me. We did talk about time line kind of because I was worried about the amount of girls I had and her saying she only needed two people. Idk I think I’m thinking way too much!

I totally get why you are stressing but it's really not something you need to stress about. It's an awkward situation and it actually sounds like she could be away? I would just leave this be for now. If in a month you don't hear from her, one more attempt...but then it's on her, you've covered your bases.
