Hair and makeup

Veronica, on June 24, 2019 at 4:23 PM Posted in Hair and Makeup 0 7
My fiance and I are going to do a first look and I am also doing one with my dad. Hair and makeup are scheduled to be done at 2 then getting dressed and photos with my bridesmaids. First look my with is scheduled at 3 then first with fiance at 3:10. After our first look I am just going to hang out with my bridesmaids until the ceremony starts at 4:30. I am nervous my makeup will need touched up after our first look. The problem is if I want my makeup artist to stay past 2 then I have to pay more money for her to stay. We are already paying close to $400 for my hair and makeup plus our flower girls hair and makeup. My fiance insisted on paying for their hair and makeup because he doesn't want to make his brother and brother's wife (their parents) pay a ton of money. The only stuff they are paying for is a tux which was $100 for the ring bearer and shoes for the girls. We paid for their dresses, accessories to go in their hair, and gave their oldest son the free tux from Men's Warehouse instead of my fiance using it for his. We also bought gifts for the four children since they are part of the bridal party. My makeup artist hasn't gotten back to me about how much extra we would have to pay, but I'm assuming a pretty good amount since she would have to stay probably two extra hours. I am not sure if she is riding over with the hair stylist and the hair stylist's assistant or not since they all work together if do then I would also have to pay extra for them to stay as well. For those that did a first look, did you need or want your makeup touched up or was it fine the way it was?

I'm not planning on having my makeup touched up by the artist. If anything needs to be adjusted between first look and the ceremony, I will be doing it myself.

Do you have a friend or family member who can touch it up for you? Make sure to get a setting spray to keep it in check. The most you should need touched up is mascara and lips I would think

Your hair and makeup should be good up until the end of the night.

Just a side note, I would check in with your photographer about your timeline if you haven't already. We are having 45 minutes blocked out for the first look pictures and all the posed photos of us together.

Your hair and makeup should last all night. I did first look in Florida at the beach and didn’t need a touch up. I’m sure it will be fine.

Having your hair and make up at 2pm and your ceremony starts at 4:30pm stresses me out. My hair and make up will be completed by 12:30. My first look with my fiancé is at 2pm, my ceremony is at 4pm.

I've elected not to have her stay. She wants to charge $75 per hour which I'm not going to pay for her to just hang out there for an hour and forty minutes until I'm done with photos.
