Hair and makeup

We got married four hours from where we live so I researched hair and makeup artists on WeddingWire and The Knot. I also scheduled a trial with the person I selected when I already knew I would be in town doing other wedding related activities. Costs greatly vary depending on location, but for our wedding it was $95 for hair and $85 for makeup. The trial was an additional $95 for hair and $85 for makeup however she forgot to charge me for one of them (I don't remember which one), but she realized her mistake and I offered to cover it, but she was kind and didn't make me since she is the one that made the mistake. I also covered the cost of hair and makeup for our two flower girls, but $35 per person per service.

Price depends on your location. No two people will pay the same fees as small towns are less expensive than big cities.

I’ll be doing my own hair (I’m pretty good at it lol and I’m trying to cut costs) and for makeup I scheduled a in-studio bridal makeup application service which is $97. Her location is about 15-20 minutes from my venue so, I have no problem driving to her the day of. To have my mua come to the venue to apply makeup is a fee of $450. I will not spend almost $500 for my makeup, I will happily drive lol. Anyway, I found her through Instagram, she’s amazing at bridal looks.

Try looking for “on location hair and makeup” they typically come to you (or your hotel/bridal suite) prices typically vary and just make sure they don’t have a minimum number of people!

I’m spending $950 for my hair and makeup, hair for 4 bridesmaids, and hair for my mom. We’re getting married at a ski resort that’s about 12 hours from where we live and our venue is about and hour from the nearest big town. I did a lot of research on hair and makeup artists for that area and got suggestions from both the venue and my photographer. I also made sure to book someone that would travel to my venue because I don’t want to be driving an hour each way on the day of the wedding. Since I won’t be able to travel to my hair and makeup artist before the wedding for a trial I read lots of reviews and talked to her a lot before I went ahead and booked her.

I’m going in the salon to get my hair and makeup done and will be paying $150!

I’m looking at just over $1k for hair & makeup for me, my mom, & 3 bridesmaids. I’m in a HCOL area, was very picky about the style I wanted, & ran into a lot of booked vendors. Between that & the minimums (which I don’t really reach, so had to look for a no-minimum vendor) I had very limited choices! This price includes travel fees, a makeup trial, & tips.

I actually just went to a salon without an appointment and they did it for me. it was like $40

My hair and makeup was $165 total and I went to a salon in town. The asking price for a hair and make up artist to travel to me was $350+
and since my wedding was on a Saturday their minimum I would of have to reach was $1,000+ CRAZY!!!! I am not about spending that sort of money and making my bridesmaid spend that either. So I went with a local salon and I’m glad I did! My hair and make up looked just as good for a fraction of the price!

My makeup is $200 (including travel cost for makeup artist) and my hair is about $75
