Hair and mua - How Does This Work?

So, I've booked all vendors besides hair and makeup. I did look around and get some quotes, but I don't understand how precisely this works. So, I've booked all vendors besides hair and makeup. I did look around and get some quotes, but I don't understand how precisely this works. On one hand you want to book early with a deposit so you get who you want for your date and on the other hand how can you possibly know you want them without the trial? And, my understanding is that you want to wait until much closer to the wedding day for trials so the look us fresh in everyone's mind.

I've had a horrible experience with hair and MUA for a wedding I was a bridesmaid in a few years ago. Every bridesmaid hated their hair and the makeup...well, I could have done it myself and should have (I'm not even close to great with this stuff). I feel like many hair stylists make updos very tight and hard looking like your hair is now a shell, but I want messy and loose and romantic. How can you possibly book this/these vendor(s) without knowing what you're getting into first? And, I'm really not interested in multiple trials as that is a serious waste of money.

Pics attached are what I'm trying to accomplish just for reference. First is hair, the rest is makeup inspo. I'm in Philly, PA.

Awesome, let me know how it goes. I'm really liking moxie blue which is very close to my venue, I'm just worried about makeup. I'm going to see what they have to offer along those lines, but for now it looks like they have a great following and many services. My venue recommended it.

I didn't know this but the girl I had a trial with she had a 4 person minimum for makeup so basically she couldn't do just me. The only person who would be interested in makeup is my sister in law but my sister and cousins aren't makeup people. I have my hair artist booked, she has a makeup artist but I'm going to the path of doing my own makeup since I'm good at it and know what I like.

I actually just reached out to one vendor for pricing and it's not bad at all. But then we have the minimum issue - they want 5 services minimum and I only have 2 people getting hair and makeup. Fantastic.

I definitely do not want to do my own hair or makeup for my wedding. It will not be good.

I def can't do my own hair lol. It would look a mess. Plus it's so long so I'm like nah haha. That's the annoying part of it all. The pricing isn't bad cuz I'm like right outside of Philly. I hope you find someone out there for that!
