Hair ....decisions decisions

Chrisheena, on November 4, 2019 at 6:03 PM Posted in Hair and Makeup 0 11
Ok so I have fairly long dread locs my sides are cut. I so use to doing my own hair for 10 years now because I have trust issues and I never walked in a salon again. But in this instance I feel like I should let my guard down and try to let a friend of mines do it because she is a professional but so was the girl I let do my hair before ugghhhhhh I needs some advice plzzzzz😩🙄

First let me say: Your hair is so BEAUTIFUL!!! Smiley love

Girl, if you're used to doing it yourself and you can't trust anyone else, I'd say just do it yourself.

I, too, trust no one. I'll be doing my own hair on the day-of. But I'm also only just straightening it/curling it. To be fair, I'm a cosmetologist. I'm getting my hair trimmed in December so that if it's cut a little too short it'll have a couple of months to grow out.

If you DO want a friend to do it, do a trial run YESTERDAY because you're so close to your date! I'd be too scared personally! LOL.

That crown braid is EVERYTHING!! You can’t do that for your big day? What happens if you don’t like it? What happens to your friendship?

I love the crown! If you really feel uncomfortable, I don't think you should let your guard down on your wedding day. Although, it may not be something you want to do yourself, it may be for the best. Especially on a high stress day as such. You don't want to look back and regret the decision to let her do it. Another option is just to find a particular style and have a test trial with her. It may help you feel more at ease.

Well first, I think you do an amazing job doing it yourself but you should have that whole pampering experience on your day. Getting my hair washed by someone else is a realllll treat to me lol!

On the other hand I totally feel you...I'm very protective of my hair and even with my eyebrows (had 1 tech for the last 11 years) SO SERIOUS but I'd say do some research first if you don't decide to try with your friend. You can start with IG... I was lucky and found my braid stylist on there and I've been going to her for over 4 years now. I'd look at their work and look for consistancy ( I don't trust people when they don't have pictures of their work) When you feel like you've found someone decent, do a couple test runs with them before the wedding and don't forget to pay attention to their time management. All of that will be needed for the big day!

If you decide to try your friend or someone else, start small...let them just style it first. Maybe you could color it yourself before the big day and let them style you. Good luck hun!

Thank you I appreciate that. What I think I'm gonna do is look some styles up and do a trial on myself. Being as though that's what I do to get ideas for my locs. And I always get good compliments so imma trust me with me ♥️💁🏾‍♀️

Thank you lovely, I appreciate the encouragement and she does good good work but I think I should stick with what I kno I'm literally 17 days away. And its crunch time and I'm wearing a veil aswell so maybe I should do the wrap around braid or I'll look some styles and see what a sista can do. Wish me luck 🤞🏾♥️
