Hair disaster!!

Tiffany, on October 20, 2018 at 12:18 PM Posted in Hair and Makeup 0 16
So a bit of rant here and sorry if I’m being over dramatic... so I’ve been bleaching and dying my hair since I was 14. My favorite hair color has always been bleach blonde hair but I went back and forth for god knows why. Anyways here I am at 22 and I decided to do a full highlight a year ago and kept getting my roots touched up. Well about a month ago my hair stylist got lazy and decided to apply on the scalp bleach with 40 vol to touch up my roots.... needless to say I told her to take it off after 2 minutes because the burning pain was unbearable. The outcome was not pretty. I had burns on my scalp and my hair was in the worst shape it’s ever been. I went home and applied a demi 7n and 6w and my hair looks okay but has a greenish undertone in some lights and doesn’t go with my skin tone at all in my opinion. My wedding is in 2 months and I’m panicking because my hair is freaking terrible. I need advice on what color to go with and how to get my hair back in shape. I also have been wearing tape in extensions for a very long time and still am because without them I look like Smeagol ☹️ PLEASE HELP!! 😭

I actually think your current hair goes the best with your complexion, some mix of blonde and brown suits you! I also like the Auburn because it makes your eyes POP!

I like the auburn as well, but I don’t think the current color looks as bad as you think! It’s the best of both worlds of blonde and brown.
As for repairing your hair, I use a leave in conditioner for mine and it’s done wonders. I dye my hair a lot and this has really helped with my dead ends and my curl pattern.

First of all, you look absolutely gorgeous! As for recommendations, I definitely recommend using hair masques and different oils. I used to dye my hair like crazy. I would try using a mixture of coconut oil and avocado oil and letting it sit for a while so your hair can soak it in and then washing it out. And I do see what you mean about the slight greenish hue, but it's definitely not extremely noticeable. You could try using some purple shampoo to get out some of the green and brazzy tones. I know Sally Beauty carries a wide array of color correcting items.

Just a little word of warning on purple shampoo... My daughter recently damaged her hair by home colouring and then used a purple shampoo. She Be then had purple streaks on the blondest most damaged sections. Took a few shampoos to rid herself of it. Maybe try mixing the purple shampoo with your normal shampoo to dilute it a little.

Lots of hair masks on well towel dried hair. No heat...

Do some deep conditioning masks. Matrix makes a really good one. It's called Miracle Creator, it's in a pink desposible pack. Also, lights can have the effect to make hair look green when it really isn't. If you don't "feel like yourself" with this color you can see if a different stylist could put a few blonde pieces around your face(known as money pieces)since you put a Demi color on it won't be hard to lighten again. I would just suggest using a lower developer. Purple shampoo is great just don't use it every wash or keep it on too long.

You're welcome! The money piece look is a great way to still be blonde without all the maintenance of being an all over blonde. I think you'll love it!

Get thee some olaplex! I think the color looks fine, but it will mitigate the damage. Also find a salon who uses the system before color for the next time you get your hair done.

The it's a 10 leave in miracle conditioner has helped lots when I have had my bayalage, I have an appointment to go blonder with shadow roots this week. I also use morrocan hair oil before blow drying some days too. I found Kristin Ess purple shampoo and conditioner to be less damaging for washing 1x or 2x a week to tone. I think you look lovely now, just take some added care for your do and you will be a-ok!

You literally pull off every single hair color. That blows my mind! Not many people can do that. All are gorgeous, and I know that isn't much help, but do whatever color makes you feel the best! My hair is a dirty blonde right now because after bleaching and doing so much, I totally ruined it, so I've been doing deep conditioning treatments, taking biotin, etc. to get it back in shape. I'm definitely going back blonde though because I feel best with that color. All look amazing on you!!
