Hair Extensions - help!

Sw1943, on August 5, 2019 at 4:16 PM Posted in Hair and Makeup 2 10

Hello! I am sold on getting hair extensions for my wedding day, but struggling on clip in, tape in or the new full head "halo" type. Any advice from past brides or brides-to-be?!

I used clip ins! I ordered them from Milk & Blush, they were awesome. I got the longest thickest ones, so they were $260. You can send them pictures of your hair and they match the color for you. I didn't want tape in or fuse in or sew in because I wash my hair every single day so I knew the extensions wouldn't hold up. I've worn them a few times so far, I'm really happy with them. They aren't too heavy so I don't get a headache and I love the different size pieces. My HAMU artist did a great job curling them too! I've worn them 4 times already, I posted links below to those:

    Rehearsal Dinner

I'm getting hair extensions to make my hair more full because mine is so thin. I ordered some clip ins from Amazon for less than $40 and they are real human hair so I can style, dye, and do anything I wanted just like I would with my normal hair. I don't need them for length and I won't wear them again so I didn't see the point in spending a lot of money on them.

I’m doing clip in. I’ve had actual extensions that are bonded to your natural hair and last for months so you can wash/dry/apply heat to them and they do a little damage to your hair when you take them out. I’ve also had clip ins, and they look just as good. So for the purpose they will be serving, I think clip in’s are completely fine.

Part of me likes the idea of having mermaid hair on my honeymoon - so I am leaning towards tape ins. My worry is that I would never use the clip ins again, so the price will be somewhat similar Smiley sad

I ordered inexpensive halo ones from Amazon with really good ratings- I had never worn extensions before and absolutely loved them. They fit on easily and looked beautiful. Highly recommend.

My HAMU artist told me to get clip ins with real human hair. I’m working on it now and will wear for the wedding and maybe on the honeymoon too. Good luck!

I’ve had all three, I personally love the tape ins because they’re easier to hide. Right now I have the weft and they’re great! If it’s only temporary I’d get clip ins though!

My HAMU artist suggested clip-ins as well! I went to the local beauty store that she suggested and they matched my hair right on the spot.

I bought a set of tape-in extensions from Amazon for $40. I got them for my hair trial, because I wanted to see how they were going to work, and look, before I spent a lot more for the wedding. The cool thing about the tape in kind is that you can wash them and style them just like you would your real hair. They don't come out until you are ready to take them out. My stylist said they could stay in for up to two months. So, after my hair trial, I decided to keep them for awhile, just to see how I liked them. It took a little getting used to all that extra hair, but they performed beautifully!! I kept them in for about a month. I just removed them last night. It takes a spray that breaks down the glue. I did need help from my daughter, since I couldn't see most of the places where they were. But it was no big deal, and took less than an hour to remove them and the sticky residue from my hair. But then I washed my hair normally, and it was fine. It didn't rip out my real hair.

I've been researching different brands and types. I think I will still go with the tape in for my wedding, simply because I know they won't come out, and I can keep them in, even on our honeymoon. One thing I was told about the clip in ones is that if you have really fine hair (which I do), they can slip out. That's why I went with the tape in. They were super easy!
