Hair extensions

Katie, on May 17, 2019 at 4:30 PM Posted in Hair and Makeup 0 14
My hair stylist recommends I get extensions for the wedding since my hair is VERY thin, with that being said what brands or places do y'all recommend that won't break the bank because I will likely never wear them again. Ps I'm going for fuller not longer. This is how I will be doing my hair.

I ordered some off Amazon for like $10 - $20. I plan to use them this weekend for my bridal portraits / hair trial, and will let you know how they turn out, lol.

I'm using hair extensions for the first time for my wedding too. Right now, I'm mainly researching 3 brands: Cashmere, Glam Seamless, and Milk & Blush. They are all on the pricier side - Milk & Blush is the cheapest at $205, but since they are for my wedding, and I'll have the pictures forever, I want good quality. I also figure maybe I'll wear them again for nights out since I'm spending so much on them.

My hair stylist actually recommended the ones they carry at Sally Beauty Supply, but they just don't have a color to match my coppery strawberry blonde. Cashmere and Glam Seamless allow you to order color samples and Milk & Blush lets you email pictures and they'll help you pick out the right color.

Also, know that you are able to dye extensions if you can't find ones to match your color. I'm just hoping to avoid needing to have my stylist do that.

I intend to do the same thing for my wedding by finding extension primarily due to the fact my hair only seems to grow so much then gives up. I have a lot of hair though so when I tried buying a pack off Amazon they were NOT going to cut it. I don't want to spend $200+ dollars on extensions for one day but I would still appreciate quality. Anything out there that is in the middle? HELP!

Look for real human hair extensions, synthetic don't work well for styling. I found some fairly nice clip in extensions on Amazon for 44 dollars. I was quite impressed with the quality. They blended into my hair very well.

My hair stylist got mine for me at a wholesale for $100.00. My hairstylist can add high or low light to match my hair exactly. She ordered the longest length of 18 inches. You have to have length because when it is placed and styled that is where you get the volume. I have the same issue as you.

I just got my samples from Cashmere today and they are amazing. Even the tiny little sample swatch is so soft and silky. I ordered 3 colors and one of them is almost an exact match which I never thought would happen! (I have a very light auburn/strawberry blonde shade.) They are $270 for 20 inch/200 gram but I’ve never been so excited to give my money to someone before. Hah!

I went to a local hair store and bought wefts to see clips onto. The ladies helped me pick the right color and I used YouTube to assemble the extensions myself!

Thank you so much for all of your inputs! I actually had a friend tell me I can RENT hair extensions from a salon in town that way I don't have to work about wasting money on something I will only wear twice.

My original hair stylist offered them as part of her package for rent. Then she canceled on me just last week, 4 months before the wedding when I've had her booked since last July. So I've been scrambling to find a replacement and the bast I've found doesn't offer extensions so I need to provide my own now. I'm really hoping to find something cheap but 200 bucks is outrageously expensive to ne for only 1 day.

I'm sorry that happened! I've also found some on Amazon for less than $40 if you want to look there

I have also been thinking about extensions for the wedding day but I don't know if I would rather look online or just have my current hairdresser do it for me since they're pretty popular at the shop. If they cost about the same price... I'll probably just go with my hairdresser to be on the safe side.

The ones your hairdresser would do in the salon would probably be permanent ones, like tape-ins. The ones we’ve all been referring to are the temporary ones you can put in and take out yourself - clips-ins. Your stylist could definitely recommend some clip-ins for you and might even be able to get you a discount though.
