Hair & Makeup

So I have a makeup artist that will be coming to my house . I have a separate hair stylist. I’m trying to decide on if I should go in salon for my hairstyling or have her come to me. If I go to her it’s $125 plus $115 deposit. If she comes to me it’s $115 deposit, $125 styling ,$150 travel fee. If I do decide to have her come to me should she come to my house or venue? Unfortunately venue only lets us in 3 hours before wedding. So will it be easier if I have my makeup and hair done at my house, have hair done at venue, or should I either go in hairstylist salon or have hairstylist come to me?? Help please 😭 If you guys can maybe create like a little schedule timeline that will help sooo much. My wedding is at 6pm.

How far away is the hair salon from your venue or wherever you're getting ready? Are you planning to do a first look? Those will probably factor into your decision whether to go to the salon or have them come to you.

I’ll be getting ready at the venue it’s about 26 minutes from Hair salon. And no first look.

How about do hair at the salon and have the makeup artist comes to you wherever you're getting dressed and ready?

Make sure to wear button up shirts so you don't mess up the hairdresser's work.

The makeup artist will be doing my makeup, mom makeup, 2 sisters makeup. That’s why I said she can come to my house that morning. We’re only allowed in the venue 3 hours before ceremony start time. The hairstylist will just be styling my hair, not adding the extensions.

Is the cost the same for the hair stylist to go to your house as it is for the venue? If so, and also if you're willing to pay the travel fee, since you mentioned that the makeup artist will be at your house, I would recommend having the hair stylist also go to your house. That way, you aren't rushed to get through hair styling at the venue.

If the travel fee is a concern, I would recommend going to the salon in the morning first (and like the previous comment mentioned, wear a button up shirt), and then do makeup afterwards, and then head over to the venue once everyone is ready.

Is the hairstylist going to be doing your entire bridal party as well? That may be a lot to fit in if she is with the makeup artist traveling to you. Both my hair stylist and makeup artist are coming to my mother’s house beforehand and they have to start between 8:30 and 9:30 to get everyone done on time. I plan on rotating everyone as we go to make things flow easier. If you have 26 minutes of travel, remember to factor that in. It would probably be best to speak to your makeup artist about it and see what she says.

My hairstylist will only do my hair. My makeup artist will do my makeup, my mom, my 2 sisters.

What would be the perfect time? My wedding starts at 6pm and my makeup artist will be coming to my house. So what time should I go to salon and set makeup appointment?
