Scarlett, on August 10, 2022 at 3:56 PM Posted in Hair and Makeup 0 11
Hi guys! I have a quick question! I want to get my hair done at a salon a few weeks before my wedding. Im a natural dark blonde so I want my hair bleached to a much lighter tone. (Almost like a white-ish color) then I want extensions as well. Ive never been to the salon before, so I was wondeimring from you guys, what is a reasonable price for that?

You have to get a price list and consultation in your area. This is an international forum so no two people anywhere will pay the same price, even in the same city.

I agree with Michelle. Even in your own region, prices may vary greatly based on experience and services offered. While getting my hair foiled I've paid anywhere from $100-$200 depending on how much they had to lighten me first and what color(s) I was doing. I've never had extensions done, but I'd definitely recommend going with a salon that has a lot of experience doing them. Not everywhere offers that as a service.

This will differ a bit from one salon to another, as well as what city you live in. For context, I live in a small town in the Midwest, and my extensions were $900, and a full head highlight is $180. The amount of foils that need to be used on your hair will impact the price, as well as the length of extensions you are wanting (longer = more $$$ and thicker = more $$&dollarSmiley winking. I would definitely suggest researching the best places for extensions in your area, and reaching out to them for a price quote or free consultation. If you find it is too expensive, you could always check out clip-in extensions. They are much more affordable and can easily be removed after the wedding.

My guess would be about $300. But obviously depends on where you live, the experience of the stylist, and length of hair play a factor.

And do a trial a month or two in advance. In case you don’t love it, there is time to repair your hair. Don’t leave it till the last week!

Definitely check your areas, but I live near San Antonio TX and you're getting married a few hours north, so could be helpful! A friend of mine has hair similar to your color in your picture, but gets it done at the salon. She got a full rebleach/highlight/balayage + tape ins for her wedding and it was $900. Don't know if that included tip! I've gone from medium brown to bleach blonde (no extensions, short but very thick hair) and it was $325 after tip.

As people have said, it’s different everywhere and it also depends on how long your hair and extensions are (ie the amount of product used to produce what you want). My hair has been long forever (between mid back, and now is down to my butt) and my stylist charges $200 for just that. But I did have long extensions several times before my hair was down to my butt. I saved a lot of money by getting real hair clip in extensions from Sally’s in platinum blonde, and having my stylist match my hair to that color versus her having to dye the extensions. All you have to do is buy the extensions and take them in with you to color match and have them put in, just make sure they are real human hair. Best of luck!

Also (sorry I can’t edit my last comment), I also meant that bringing in my own extensions cost less than using what they had at the salon. So essentially you’re just paying to get your real hair treated…I think I saved $500 and wasn’t miserable sleeping in semi permanent extensions. You might call around your areas and get quotes over the phone for all of what you want too.
