Hair stylist accommodations

Elaine, on August 28, 2021 at 11:26 AM Posted in Hair and Makeup 0 3
Hello,

I’ve always wanted my hair stylist of over 20 years do my hair for my wedding. Due to me moving, he’d have to travel here but I would need to pay for his accommodations. If I’m paying for his accommodations should I chip in towards travel for my bridal party?

I don't understand how these two things are related. Do you want him to do the bridesmaids' hair also? Typically the bridal party pays for their own travel, but you can offer to pay for their hair styling if you want.

I agree with the last poster that one doesn’t have anything to do with the other. Your stylist is a vendor; if you are contractually required to pay for his travel, that makes sense and is very common. Your bridal party are your guests; if you want to help subsidize their travel costs that is a very nice gesture but completely your choice.

I agree with the others - those things are not intrinsically linked. If you want that hairdresser then paying for his travel and accommodation will likely be a requirement to have him do the hair.

For your bridal party - we are paying for their accommodation because they are staying with me to get ready, so it just makes sense we'd pay. But as long as you're upfront with your bridal party in advance about what you are and are not paying for, it's really up to you what you choose to cover, and up to your bridal party to decide if they will accept the role depending on if they're ok with that.
