Hair stylists compared to number of women

Kate, on November 19, 2019 at 9:43 PM Posted in Hair and Makeup 0 6
How many hairstylists are you having and how many woman are getting hair done? I was thinking I would need 2 for 8 people, including myself, but I’ve heard from a few places that 1 stylist will be enough given we have from 8am-1pm.

Thanks!

My best friend is also my regular hair stylist and is one of my bridesmaids! She’s going to be doing my hair the day of the wedding. She plans to do my make up and the other girls (I have 6 including her) and she will be bringing a fellow hairdresser to do the other 5 bridesmaids hair.
I think you’re going to need the extra hands sis!
    Congratulations!!!

Thanks Corinne! I have one makeup artist coming and one dedicated hairstylist — it sounds similar to what you have! Was wondering if I needed two dedicated hairstylists and one for makeup, but maybe I’ll be ok? Congratulations to you too!

I would stick with two hairstylists. Even though you have plenty of time to get ready, it will take a long time for hair. Bridal hair alone will probably be 30 min - 1 hour. If your bridesmaids are doing updos factor in 30-40 minutes each. This is about how long it took for my cousin's wedding recently and it took about 5 hours for 8 people, including makeup (1) and hair(2 stylists)

    Hey Kate!

I think that everyone will be a lot more comfortable if there are two hair stylists as there will be no need to rush if someone's hair takes longer than expected. Will everyone be getting updos? When you are booking your hairstylist, you can definitely take their opinion on board about the number of stylists you need but also keep in mind that you don’t want to feel under pressure to get everyone finished within the allotted time.

Thank you! I decided to go with two; one will be dedicated to prepping the girls’ hair and the other will style. There will also be a makeup artist. Appreciate your feedback!

I think that is a great idea! No one will be under any time pressure and will be able to enjoy themselves without having to rush! You will all look beautiful!
