Hair suggestions?!

Amanda, on March 19, 2019 at 11:01 AM Posted in Hair and Makeup 0 6
So this is my lovely dress pre alterations and without the aline slip (so the bottom will be a little more "puffy").
I'm getting married on the deck of a yacht in Florida, and then our reception is inside the yacht. Its "romantic vintage" theme, think blush and ivory Rose's, gold wine bottles, Pearl's, etc.
I always dreamed my hair would be down and curled for my wedding, but I'm worries with the wind and humidity of being on a boat in Florida, in JUNE, that my naturally straight, mildly thin hair will go flat instantly. I was also told that the neckline up my dress wouldnt look well with my hair down.
So now I'm thinking of doing a low, loose, romantic updo with some hair framing my face.
ANYWAY, if you ladies think I'm on the right page with what I'm thinking or have any other suggestions please feel free to let me know Smiley smile

You look fabulous in your dress. I think an up do would be so pretty and really make the look. Maybe something like this.

Yes! A low messy bun would look so good with your dress.

    Hi Amanda!

Wow, you look absolutely beautiful in your dress!Smiley love

I know what you mean about wanting to protect your hair from the wind and humidity! But a loose updo could really be the best of both worlds, you can have strands down around your face while not trying to stop it from flying around in the wind all day!

If you really had your heart set on it being left down with some curls, you could always opt for a side-swept hairstyle? I have added some examples of them below. You can have your down and over your shoulder but it will still be secured with hair slides so that it doesn't fly around in the wind!

Who told you that your hair wont wear well down with that neckline? Ignore this person for the rest of the planning! I don't understand why people need to say oh this won't look right with your body type, or this will cut your body in half if you get that kind of Vail, or those kind of straps or shrug. I think you should wear your hair the way that makes you feel comfortable and forget the neckline business lol Smiley smile. I agree Florida in June (been there many times in June) so I understand what you're saying...but I wonder I'd you could do a sea salt spray and curl style and just pin it half up in the back and wear a flower or something. My thin hair always looks best like that in the humidity. Try some products out. Stupid question but are you able to visit Florida now to see what it will be like with your trial hair ?? Do you live in Florida? I'm unable to see your date and your "where you're from" section while I'm in here. Do what feels comfortable. I love the dress!

Thank you so much! After long considerstion I actually decided to leave my hair down! We are going to be in AC most of the evening and my hairstylist swears that with her living in Florida she will be able to know how to combat the humidity. I personally live in ohio...so that's a big temp difference! Lol sadly I can't get there early enough for a trial so I'm kinda just putting all my trust in my vendors. But we are officially about 28 days out so it is what it is! Lol looking forward to doing my bam post next month!
