Hair trial too late?

K, on August 23, 2019 at 11:23 PM Posted in Hair and Makeup 0 7
I found a hair stylist available for my wedding but the problem is she isn’t available for a hair trial until one month before my wedding. Is that too late?? She also requires a deposit to reserve the wedding day, but I don’t want to do that until I have the trial of course. Her work on Instagram is great so should I just move forward with booking the trial and wait until then to make the deposit assuming she would still be available? I don’t know if I should take my chances.

The hair style I want is simple (parted sideways with long loose curls) so I feel like it would be hard to screw that up. Should I just find a different hair stylist who is available for the trial much sooner?

If you want to reserve your date, I would pay the deposit then do the trial. I don’t think there’s any such thing as too late for a trial.

If the Instagram photos and reviews shows they know what they are doing it should be fine unless you have a super tricky hair type

My wedding is on October 9th and I am doing my hair trial on September 3rd, so no I don't think that your hair trial will be too late. Yes, you should probably pay the deposit if you don't want to run the risk of the hair stylist potentially getting booked by someone else and no longer being available for your big day. My stylist required a deposit to reserve the date. I think this is pretty standard honestly. Smiley smile

Guess I’m just afraid of hating it and being “stuck” with her... but that’s just my mind coming up with worst case scenario 🤯

I had a similar issues needed someone who can do dreads I found someone and my first hair trial will be 09/13/19 the wedding is 10/5. I would have a backup hair style just in case the first choice doesn't workout.

Definitely book her now so you don't lose her. The point of a trial is to give your honest feedback about what you like, what you don't like, what works and what doesn't work. She would have to be pretty bad if she couldn't follow those directions. Based on her great work on Instagram, it sounds like she'll be just fine. Don't be afraid to speak up though so you get the real benefit of the trial.
