This is my inspo, except with dark hair. I wanted a look that embraced my curls, even if they wont be fully natural curls for the wedding day.

I like the up look, that way you can show off your shoulder.

I think it would be a great compromise if you did an up-do with soft long curls coming off/out of it. Or you could have one hair style (down/curled) for the ceremony and then have it pinned up quickly (up-do) for your reception. Just a thought. Good luck!

Yes! agreed! Embrace your natural curls!

Thanks for posting these. I have been looking for hairstyles for natural curls and when you search anything for curly wedding hair the results are all CURLED wedding hair. Not the same thing!

I love the styles. I wish my curly hair wasn't so hard to work with. Here's my natural curly hair. I think it would be more work to leave it curly. My hair is curly/wavy, when it's hot it gets crazy.

Love all your curl and texture! If you want to go natural, find a stylist that is experienced with naturally curly hair. It may be worth the extra time and money to have it washed and dried at the salon with product before the updo so they can build in all the frizz/humidity fighting products?

I have super curly hair as well and it does not help that it’s long and thick. I personally think your hair depends on the style of dress you’ll be wearing. Since my hair is super curly, I’m having it’s straightened out prior to the trial/ big day to make it smoother and easier to manage while styling. If you need product recommendations so your curls aren’t damaged let me know (:

I haven't straightened my hair in 6 months because I I cut a lot off from heat damage. I told myself I wouldn't put heat to it again until the wedding. My hair is healthier now. I planned on having the stylist straighten if they need to for the up-do(which they most likely will). So on my big day you won't be able to see the damage if any is left.

Thank you! I like my natural hair, but a lot of hairstylist don't know how to work with it when it's curly. It's super soft. I will probably wash and dry it before the hair stylist gets there and add frizz control if I decide to wear it curly! My trial is in two weeks so I am excited to see what we come up with

I hear you! I love the girl that cuts my hair but I never get good quality curls when she dries and styles it. It looks pretty but not nearly as curly as when I do it myself. So day of wedding I'm going to wash/product/dry my hair and then let the stylist work with what I've got.

I did a big chop too and now my curls are bouncy and tight! I only put heat less than a handful of times within the year. As long as you use products to prevent heat damage one time won’t affect it as harshly.

If you want to use your natural hair I’m sure you can find someone who is specialized in curly hair. They should be able to put enough product to enhance the curl pattern without weighing the hair down. Especially if you will be outside regardless of an up do or hair down 😊

Personally, if you have detailed work on the back along the neck /spine , I would have it up so you can show it off ! 🤩

Your first photo looks so identical to what my hair will look like. I had my hair trial about a month ago. I have very straight hair so I am envious of people with curls.

If you haven't tried the curly girl method you should try it. It really defines the curls more. This is my hair when I follow it... But it takes a few weeks to get your hair used to it. Your hair reminds me of mine before I used the Deva Curl products and started following the method religiously. I was always ashamed of my curls growing up, so I always try to get people to showcase their curls now. So sorry if this post comes off wrong, I know you weren't asking for every day hair styling advice. 😅

CGM is amazing! I started following it about 6 months ago and the difference in my hair is crazy! Definitely recommend giving it a try to anyone that's a natural curly.

I think if you want to showcase the curls go for the first. I also am thinking of keeping my hair down because with hair up you have to think that it's most likely not going to last all night, No matter how many bobby pins or how much hairspray, my updos always end up loose and half undone for things like this. You'll be moving a lot. Though I prefer the second look.

Sooooo. I had my hair trial today! I ABSOLUTELY LOVE IT!! i decided to go with an updo, because the wedding is in September. Kansas City has really crazy weather, so who knows what the weather will be. If it’s anything like last year, it was still in the low to high 80’s all September
