Hair up or down and why?

I’m still trying to decide on a hairstyle before my trial but I’ve realized that no one can really give me suggestions on what to do with my hair because they don’t know my personal style, my preferences, or things I’m worried about. So instead, I just want to know what you’re doing/did with your hair and why you chose that style? Updo to get it off your neck? Down because you look like a 12 year old boy with it up? Lol. I’m trying to weigh the pros and cons of down versus up and I find that you guys always think of things that I never would’ve thought of!

I'm doing all up! low bun style. Mostly because my hair NEVER stays curled for more than 30 minutes and on another note it ANNOYS me when its down too much. I know it will get caught in all my buttons and i will get hot. Plus i think up is a classier look. Not that hair down isn't gorgeous! just my preference for me.

Don't, it's extensions! Hahahaha my hair is long but I added 3 or 4 inches with clip in extensions! I wanted "pinterest hair" so I needed it!

That's kind of what I'm thinking! What I want it a little messier than that, but I definitely want it to be loose and romantic and NOT slick back. I also get SO annoyed with my hair down and don't know if I want to be bothered with it on my shoulders all night

I wore my hair down. Mainly because I did my hair myself and anything half up or all up was quite challenging for me Haha. I think it turned out pretty good for a wash and go!

My hair is longish, but I have no volume anymore. I feel like all my hair has fallen out overnight lol. If I wear it down I definitely want to look into some extensions.

Same! I would even look at extensions for volume if you wear it up, I've had several friends use extensions for updos. I paid $260 to get them from Milk & Blush!

LOL I am dying at Kool Aid Man but I am POSITIVE you do not resemble him. Smiley laugh My face is very square and I'm struggling because I'm also very busty and I feel like I look top heavy with it down, but I also feel like my double chin shines with it up.... This should not be so hard! lol.

If I go with an updo, mine will also be a low bun messy style. Mine stays curled, but it frizzes with humidity and I live in Florida so even in December it could be ridiculously humid. And it annoys me so bad and I'm nervous about getting hot and just piling it up anyway. I agree I do think it looks classier (if it's done right). I have definitely seen some updos that I'm not a fan of at all and I've seen some beautiful, glamorous down-dos but I don't think I have enough hair to make it look as fancy as I want down.

Totally the Kool-Aid man. I think down works for double chins but I get what you're saying about looking too top heavy. I don't think that's really going to be an issue though. Almost everyone will be looking at the top lol

Lol, that is true. I still haven't decided but I think if I do an updo I will definitely have a lot of hair down in the front to try to hide the second chin.

You know it sounds crazy but there is tape you can get to uh... tape in the extra chin. You just cover it with foundation. I'm personally not doing this but just a thought Smiley smile

I did an updo because I get super hot with my hair down. Our wedding was also in July and it was over 100 degrees, so I would have been miserable with it down my back! I also put my hair in a messy bun almost any chance I get, so it just felt more like me to have it up.

I would say find one up-do you LOVE. I think that would be your deciding factor. Something when you see it with your dress and veil you say "this is it". Everything will come together and it will be perfect! Smiley heart plus everyone gets sweaty on the dance floor anyway Smiley winking

Yes! My wedding is in December so it won't be 100 degrees but I'm in Florida so it very well maybe 75 degrees. And I don't want to be hot on the dance floor. My hair is almost always in a bun - mostly because my hair gets on my nerves. I do tend to wear it down and fix it more in the winter cause it's not so hot and annoying, but I'm thinking if I'm dancing for hours I'll end up throwing it up at some point.

I have very fine and flat hair, and it gets greasy the second a gust of wind comes along or if it is hotter than 70 degrees haha, so I will be wearing it up! But I am not doing anything too tight, I definitely want a lower looser updo with some curls coming out.

I think it also depends on the dress and features you want to show. I love my collar bones and back, so I always knew I wanted it up so I could show off my features!

My hair has gotten kind of thin so I’m worried about having enough body for an updo but I’m gone make it work. Lol. I actually don’t love my back, but I love the way it looks in my dress. And I have great boobs.🤷🏼‍♀️🤣 so up is seeming like what I’m leaning towards.
