Hair

I have a question that isn’t really wedding related lol. Has anyone had super long hair then decided to cut it shorter? My hair is currently almost to my belly button. I’m ready for a change. I’m thinking of cutting it right below my collar bone.

Anyone else done this?? If so, some before and after pictures would be great to see!!
Also- I’m wearing my hair up for the wedding, so this won’t matter for the day of the wedding.

Are you wanting an updo? If you have a hairstylist you’ve gone to awhile, you might check with them prior to cutting.

Yes! A low bun. The girl doing my hair for the wedding is actually the one cutting my hair tomorrow

I will put my picture on my profile picture for now. Been through extra long and extra short for years to donate my hair. Let her see and decide what haircut is best for you for the wedding tomorrow then. I personally prefer to keep it long for the wedding, so I can be flexible with hair up, down, or half up, in case I changed my mind 😅

I do that every year! Aha I grow my hair out for the sole purpose of donating it so every other year I cut it up very drastically. It is something to adjust to. there’s some apps you can do where you take a photo of yourself and it’ll show you what you’d look like with different hairstyles

I cut my hair drastically (8 inches off) and donated it right after my wedding! I was really happy to have been able to donate it and felt good about doing that. It was nice and lightweight. And it was kinda fun to have a change in style. BUT I did actually miss my long hair a ton. I’ve had long hair most of my life so I just didn’t feel like “me” without it honestly. I started growing it back right away 😂

Also keep in mind even if you are doing an updo for your wedding... some updos require a lot of hair to be able to hold them up and keep them looking a certain way so I would decide on an exact style and speak with your stylist about how long your hair would need to be to have that style before you do anything irreversible to your hair before the wedding Smiley smile

I wouldn't cut your hair until after the wedding especially since you want it up in a bun. I wanted my hair up in a bun so I waited until after the wedding to cut it. After our honeymoon, I came home and had it cut.

I used to do this all the time. I would grow my hair out and then cut it super short to donate it and repeat the process. However, when I started dying my hair again, I couldn’t do it because the donation places won’t accept dyed hair.

This post read my mind!! I was doing a 3 year comparison yesterday from old photos to now. Same outfit. My hair has grown so much. I asked my husband through all my phases, which he preferred. Shockingly he likes the shortest to the collar bone. So after the big wedding, chop chop! Hair 5

I cut mine from below my belt line to my shoulders a couple of years ago. There are moments I miss my long hair, but 9/10 times I am SO glad to have the weight off. I will post pictures later when I am on my phone and not my work computer Smiley winking

Did you let your doctor know during your check up? It’s not supposed to. Or maybe inherited from your family? I cut mine from my hips to a almost shoulder length 2 years ago, and now it’s bellow my chest. I personally do not recommend hair supplements pills. It made me grow more and thicker hair everywhere! 🤣
