Haircut or Trim before wedding?

Karen, on May 25, 2016 at 9:39 AM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 42

I had my hair trial over 2 months ago, and my wedding is in less than 3 weeks. My hair is super thick, and goes down to about the bra strap area. I'm thinking of having it trimmed before the wedding - good idea or bad idea? My hair style for the wedding is an up-do.

I figure if I get a trim, like one inch off, it will be at the same length it was at when I had the hair trial. If I don't get a trim, I'm wondering if the length being about an inch longer than at the trial will make a difference?

Umm no its one inch. Sounds like you have plenty of hair to work with. Why not ask your stylist who knows your hair this question?

I'm going to get a trim right before the wedding. My stylist suggested it.

I had asked the hairstylist if I should get it trimmed a bit, and she had hesitated a bit and said not to worry about it.

I usually get my hair thinned - I definitely wouldn't do any thinning though if I get it cut.

I can't wait till I am back from my honeymoon so I can chop this all off! It's at the point where it's like just way too much hair lol.

I've actually heard that is is good to get a haircut before an event to give your hair a little pep. My hair always looks amazing when I get it cut, like it got new life! I'd say 1 inch doesn't matter so go for it.

Just get it trimmed this week and be done with it. One inch cleans up the ends but doesn't really make a huge difference like 2-3 inches would. Or a long hair dangling off the buffet.

I'm surprised this is even an issue. Weren't you the one who said that you look better than other brides without any professional help at all?

I don't have any advice about your hair, but I just want to say that I seriously can not wait for your BAM.

I'm going to get a trim, but request to keep the length for my up 'do two weeks before. I also have bangs though, which are annoying, and it's probably better for her to trim them than for me to take scissors to them when I can't see anymore like I usually do.

I'm going to get my hair trimmed about a week before the wedding. This was on the advice of my stylist...who is also doing my up do for the wedding.

As a stylist... 1 inch is literally nothing. It will make no difference to the updo whatsoever. Pretty much every human being with long hair could benefit from a 1 inch trim, if not more. Nothing looks worse in an updo than scraggly, damaged ends because people are trim-phobic.

Just throw caution to the wind and bust out the clippers.
