Hairdos for thin hair

Maire, on July 9, 2021 at 12:23 PM Posted in Hair and Makeup 0 6

Hello ladies, I need your help! My wedding is in a month and a half and I hoped that my hair will grow but it seems that it is a more complicated health problem than just taking some vitamins for hair growth so I am now looking for ideas for thin hair. It is thin and it has heavily fallen out in the last couple of years. I don't have alopecia areata which would be more like bald patches, it is more like it is gone a little bit everywhere, the way it happens older women or after menopause (I am only 30 though).

I have naturally curly/wavy hair and very thin in the front. I really wanted to have my hair down in hollywood waves and a statement little haircomb on the side but I think I don't have enough hair for that. Then I thought I could instead have a tiara/crown or a headband. Any ideas? I won't be putting extensions, too pricey and too complicated where I live.

My hair is down to the bottom of my neck.

Thank you so much!

I wore halo extensions and a topper. If it's human hair, it can be styled with heat.

Clip ons and temporary type extensions are much cheaper than the kind meant to be installed in your hair semi permanently
    Good luck

I agree with Willow. There are several temporary extension options that are not too expensive. You should reach out to your hairstylist to discuss viable options given your price point. You might be pleasantly surprised.

I agree with the others, plus I've heard styling stays in extensions much better and longer. So your Hollywood waves could still happen! I too have very thin hair and at my trial we were able to get volume, height and some bulk. Good luck with your decision

Thanks ladies! I appreciate your advice but I am not in the US where extensions are more common, plus I am in a different country than where my wedding will be due to covid and I don't know my hairstylist and won't meet her till a week before the wedding, so I don't want to plan on extensions (it is not the wedding we planned, it is a postponed one and moved to a different place, but things are finally falling into place now Smiley laugh ).

I was thinking perhaps to wear a headband or tiara and somehow give volume to the hair in the back with blow drying it 60s style, that's the only thing I can think of. What do you think about that? Any other idea? Smiley heart

Do you have any way to communicate with your stylist in advance? You could maybe send pictures of your hair and see her recommendations?

I highly recommend a halo from hidden crown! They are a little $$ but not as bad as actual extensions. They are also very comfortable and you can wear it whenever even after. They run decent sales and you can have them cut/dyed. I wear mine all the time for added volume, not length and even my mom had a hard time figuring out what I had done with my hair! If not a halo there are so many clip in options but those hurt IMO. If you go with either of these options just make sure you give yourself time/practice before the day of with it.
