Hair/make-up Cost

I think it depends on where you're located, but that's a lot higher than what I'm paying. I'm in South Jersey and the quotes I got were all right around $100 per service. $100 for trials (so 200 for both), and for my travel fee it's an additional 100. So for me alone with a trial for both hair and makeup it's $500 total.

This truly varies soooo much. My makeup alone is $500 (not including hair).
I would reach out to other established artists in your area whose work is as good as the one you are wanting- request quotes and compare them to the one you got. Keep in mind that there are a lot of budget artists out there… but you usually get what you pay for.

I'm near NYC (so basically as expensive as it gets) and this is nuch higher than what I'm paying.

Get alot of quotes. I researched HMUA websites in my area and got actual quotes from about 8. I found that there are different price points. After getting quotes and looking at their Instagram accounts for styles I liked, I went with one on the lower end. I just couldn't imagine paying so much.

I’m paying $200 makeup, $200 hair. I don’t remember cost of the trail. I am getting married in Maryland however which makes it a bit cheaper. I’m from New York. I couldn’t imagine how much I would’ve paid 😬

I’m in Knoxville. I was expecting to pay about $300 for my hair & makeup. Ended up being $175 just for me + $36 for travel (@ $1/mile). Quite a pleasant surprise. I did spend quite a bit on trials though (the search is the hardest part!).

It depends on the location for travel fee. My hair and make up is $400 and trial I believe is $200.

Yeah, that's high. My trial for hair & makeup was $100 & the day of will be $175. This is with a company, not a buddy rate.

Very location and quality dependent. That price is about par for California so I’m not surprised. If you’re in a different state with a much lower cost of living, I would search around for other options if you’re really sticking to a smaller budget.

That’s extremely high. $300 for travel…even with high gas prices, that’s 5 tanks of gas in my SUV.
I’m paying $100 for trial makeup and $100 for day of makeup in an affluent town on the Jersey Shore.
I would get other quotes.

The travel fee is the only thing sticking out to me as high. But I'm in LA and mine is not exactly what you'd call on the more economical scale (its one of the few things I'm really splurging on). But that travel fee seems to be a bit much.

High in my opinion. I am paying 175 which includes travel

From what I’ve noticed most people no matter what service it is don’t charge a travel fee if it’s within 50 mi so that’s really weird to me and WAY too much for hair and makeup

Im in GA, mine is coming from TN, My hair and makeup is $275 trial is $125 so $400 total. Travel is $250

I would continue to look around and hit up more quotes. But it also depends on your location.

I wanted a venue that had a woodsy ceremony I couldn’t find anything like in NY that wouldn’t cost me a million dollars. You got a great price though!
