That seems really high. I'm paying $225 for hair and makeup, and in my area it ranges from $200-$300 just for the bride. I would definitely keep looking area/negotiate.

I live in a high cost of living area and I paid close to that with tips included. The only thing was my travel fee was $100 for 25 miles of travel. $300 for 50 miles might be a tad high. If you live in a low cost of living area I am not sure that your prices would be reasonable. I'd shop around.

I would say it depends on her work and her resume. Maybe not so much on Instagram! That’s a big travel fee but you didn’t say how far they were traveling. There are a lot of people that can do great hair and aren’t licensed though! I wouldn’t pay for hair unless it was an extravagant hair do! If it’s pun curls and basic wedding stuff I wouldn’t pay to get my hair done! If it’s something like this yeah I’d pay. If it’s a bun with some curls I would have to disagree! Makeup and Hair are very different! What I mean by that is a really nice hairstyle is a really nice hairstyle whether it’s in a picture or in real life! Makeup aid a whole different ball game! Makeup has to have the right amount on usually no sun block cause it usually reflects a white casts in photos and something can look good in natural light than it does in a room with chandeliers! There’s a lot of basic hairstyles out there that people pay too much money for when it’s labeled “bridal or updo!” Not all updos are difficult and not all bridal looks are difficult. Good Luck! (Sometimes rates are higher because who’ve they’ve worked on or what they’ve worked on like commercials, bridal magazines, TV, and films)

I think it varies from location to location. But yeah I would agree that the travel fee is incredibly high. My venue suggested two separate hair and make up vendors, that both charged nothing for travel. And my hair and make up was $300.00 plus $90 for my trial run. I would get more quotes from other vendors in your area.
