Hair/make up for rehearsal, wedding, and day after

Natalie, on April 24, 2019 at 1:18 AM Posted in Style and Décor 0 9
About 70 more days to go until my big day and I’m now starting to think of the little things if you are already married what did you do for hair/make up for rehearsal dinner, wedding day, and the day after the wedding?? I will have a hair and make up team for my wedding so I’m more concerned about the day before and the day after. I normally hate how my hair looks when it’s freshly washed since it’s super thin and doesn’t hold a shape. Should I wash it at the end of the rehearsal? If I don’t I may not have good hair to work with for the wedding day. As for the the day after the wedding i also don’t want to wash it After the wedding since I feel like I would be way to tired to wash it at the end of the day and just want to sleep. so my main question for that is do you think guests would judge me if i have the same hairstyle the day after??

The day before the wedding, I'll do my own makeup and wash my hair to prep for the next day.

On my wedding day, I'll have a HMUA team come to glam me up!

The next day, we're leaving for our honeymoon. I'll do my own makeup and keep my hairstyle. I'll probably take down my hair (an updo) later in the evening once we're settled at the hotel. I'd still like to look a little bridal as we depart and arrive at our honeymoon destination.

I am planning on wearing my hair down instead of an updo on my wedding day so I am getting a small trim the morning before so that it looks it’s freshest. Since they will wash and nicely blow dry my hair, I will be wearing it down for the rehearsal and rehearsal dinner. For the wedding day, ask your hair and makeup artist on when she wants you to wash it. They usually suggest not that day and want day old hair, but explain your hair type and see what they say since they would know best! For the day after, it depends on how your hair is. If you sleep on it, will it hold its shape and now look messy? If so, then no problem wearing it like that that day. If it looks like you just woke up, then take it out the day after before you go anywhere.

No one will judge you. As long as you don't have like an updo and try to sleep on it because I guarantee you will wake up with it looking like a rat nest the next morning. If you just get loose curls for the day of your wedding it should hold up for the day after too.

I personally am a perfectionist so I will be waking up early to do my hair again the morning after the wedding but I really think if it's curled up nice it should last for you. Try investing in a silk pillowcase they work wonders on keeping your hair style fresh.

For the rehearsal dinner I am just doing my own hair and makeup. I'm pretty good at makeup so I'm confident in doing it myself and I'm just going to curl my hair. For the wedding day, I have HMUA doing it all. The day after the wedding we won't be doing anything (we aren't going on our honeymoon until the fall) so I will probably shower that morning at the hotel.

The day before I just did my own hair and makeup. Freshly washed & styled that morning so I didn't have to wash it late at night before the next day's events. The day of, I obviously had my hired artists work their magic. The day after was back to normal life so I did nothing special.

One of my bridesmaids is doing my hair and makeup for the rehearsal dinner. Our rehearsal is in the morning on Friday so I'm just going casual. I'll have my hair down & curled, so cute but not as fancy as the wedding day. The day after I'll probably go makeup free & hair up. I'd consult your HAMU artist about what to do for washing the day before.

I actually have a silk pillow case I also upgraded some of my hair products so I’m not sure if the silk pillow is helping or it’s all the new products. I never thought of bringing the pillow case with me so that’s a great idea thank you.

Do you plan to shower the night of rehearsal dinner/the morning of the wedding or will you have you hair team work with the curly hair from the day before?

I'll shower but I'm not going to wash my hair (I have a shower cap I use on days I don't wash my hair.) I'm having my hair curled and down for the wedding too and my hair doesn't hold curl well if it is clean so she asked me to come with "dirty" hair. I will probably curl it for the rehearsal and try not to use a ton of hairspray and then that night after I shower I'll just brush it out. It will definitely still have loose curl/wave to it but my HMUA is curling it again anyway so I don't think it'll be a problem.
