Hair/makeup contract

Fmv, on August 21, 2019 at 1:06 PM Posted in Hair and Makeup 0 7
So i just got in contact with a local boutique. Where i live there arent a huge amount of salons to begin with, and most arent offering bridal hair/makeup. I spoke to a few traveling stylisrs and a few were already booked for my day!! So i figured ill plan ahead and get something set in stone. So i found one and spoke to the coordinator, she listed the prices of each service which was way cheaper then what was listed on their website? Odd.
I told her my wedding is october 2020 and that potentially it would be 9 people- myself, 5 bridesmaids, 2 mothers and 1 step mother and that i would have to verify with each of them to get a final count. She said with my day being farther and the amount of people coming that i would need to fill out a contract which i totally get, to protect themselves from cancellations. She also said the packet has info that i would need to fill out about each bridesmaid and what they are looking for.

Has anyone else come across this? Did you have to sign a contract for hair and makeup?

I signed a contract for every service I’m getting on my wedding day, including hair and makeup. My hair is being done by my regular stylist and we still drew up a contract. The nice thing about contracts is that it’s meant to protect both parties- you can’t cancel, but neither can they. Another great example is that the price is included in the contract so they can’t suddenly charge you 3x the amount on the day of.

Yes, I signed a contract for my hair and makeup stylists, and paid a deposit that will be applied to the overall cost. It's really for everyone's protection.

I wouldn't book hair and makeup if they didn't make me sign a contract. It protects you too so they can't just flake. I've seen that happen a lot and every time it's because people didn't have a contract.

Most freelance artists do contracts. It's a good thing to have so there are no surprises the day of (no shows, price change, etc.).

Yes, I can’t imagine not signing a contract! I just went to my regular hair salon, and even that required a contract . I didn’t need to commit to styles for the girls but gave them a basic idea (ie 2 up-dos, 1 blow out)

Yes. My hair and makeup vendor still hasn't sent me her contract and, while I trust her, it's torturing my soul. I'll see her in 2 weeks so I'll mention it then, but...🤦🏻‍♀️.

    Every vendor = a contract.
