Hair/makeup cost?

Emily, on January 28, 2020 at 7:32 PM Posted in Hair and Makeup 1 22
How much are you spending on your hair and makeup? Are you paying for your whole bridal party? Also, is your makeup vendor also your hair vendor? I’ve been talking to a few salons in town and what they are asking for just mine and my mother’s hair/makeup is ridiculous. Most places I’ve been talking to are 700 dollars without travel! Is this normal??

I am paying $250 for my hair and makeup, she is my normal stylist, and we are getting ready at the salon. I’m paying an additional $2Kish for 8 bridesmaids to do hair, 6 for makeup and both for my mother and FMIL.

$125 for makeup and $150 for hair not including trial, travel, or tip. $90 for each service for bridesmaids. I gifted my bridesmaids one service and if they wanted both they paid for the other. Same company but several different people.

That sounds close to what it would be for my mom and I. My bridesmaids decided to do their own hair and makeup

Daughter's day-of HMU, without tip was $300, mine (MOB) was $175). Her trial was another $200. For everything, we tipped another $140. We went to the HMUA's salon, so no travel. Total, for just the two of us, $815.... (We're in SoCal, so a relatively high cost area. Her HMUA specializes in weddings. Daughter is naturally gorgeous, so I don't think it was really hard to make her look perfect, but my best friend of 40+ yrs literally didn't initially recognize me, because she originally assumed I was one of the BMs when I came down the aisle...lol! It was definitely the BEST I've looked in a VERY LONG TIME, so I thought it was money well spent! Smiley winking

That is a lot of $$$z. I did get a quote for $200 for just my hair day of and I had to have a minimum of 4 additional people getting hair or makeup at $150 each. Plus $150 for trial, plus a travel fee. I made an appointment with someone else for a trial. Her prices are $50 for trial $75 for day of for me. She’s charging $50 per bridesmaid no minimum and a flat $30 travel fee. She has great reviews so I’m hopeful. My cousin is great with makeup so she’s doing it for free but I’m still going to give her $$.

I’m getting married in a small town so my services cost a lot less than they would if I was getting married where I live! My bridal package includes hair & makeup, a trial for both, shellac manicure, and regular pedicure all for $276! She charges travel if your venue is over 20 miles from the salon, but since it’s only 17 miles away, she’s traveling for free!

I don't wear makeup so $0 for me. Hair is $75, I'm giving her $25 tip so $100. I'm not paying for the bridal party, although the stylist is my bridesmaid n is doing her own hair/make up & doing the MOH hair for free

$250 for hair and makeup by the same company that will come to us. Bridal party hair is $85 and makeup is an additional $85. This is in the Boston area which is typically pricey so $700 to me for two people sounds a little over the top.

I was dead set on this one hair stylist so I'm having a hair stylist and a makeup artist. The hardest part was the makeup artist since I couldn't find one that would travel just for me. So I'm getting my makeup done first then going to the venue. I ran into a lot of beauty places that had a minimum of services or people, which I simply couldn't meet.

My bridesmaids are having their hair done and I'm paying for all or most of it.
Hair for me will be around $135 plus travel. Bridesmaids hair is $85 each. Makeup for myself is $125 and no travel fees since I'm coming to her. My bridesmaids opted to do their makeup themselves which is completely fine with me! I feel confident enough to do my own makeup but didn't want to stress the day of my wedding about if my liner was perfect so I'm having someone else do it 😅

$900 package for hair and makeup for myself, 4 bridesmaids and hair for my mom in Chicago. Same company for hair and makeup. They’ll be traveling to our hotel and no travel fee. We’re not doing a trial, but I believe it was $80 if I wanted to do it.

I feel pretty lucky about the pricing. A lot of bridal and hair makeup alone was $400+ and bridesmaids over $175 each

I’m getting married about an hour outside of Philly and I have a team traveling to do hair and makeup for me, bridesmaids, and 2 mothers.

I actually really like how this stylist did her packages... she tiered them by difficulty/ price/ amount of makeup so I could choose which tier to book for each person.
Altogether with travel fee, it’s coming out to $795 before tip, including a bridal trial.
    Price breakdown:Moms: $85 eachBridesmaids: $135 eachBride: $190 + $100 trialTravel: $65

Thanks all. I'm getting married in a smaller town in the south so 700 for me for 2 people was completely bonkers. I've kept searching and found another artist to do both my hair and makeup and my mom's with travel to our site for around 420. I don't need a trial so this is much more acceptable. I'm not a make up person or a hair person so that initial price just threw me for a loop.

My HAMU was $240 (not including trial or travel). We paid for all bridesmaids & moms to get their makeup done if they wanted (one mom did her own hair, two bridesmaids did their own makeup) so the cost was $2,020 total. I had 9 bridesmaids and 3 moms and me and 1 flower girl.

My hair and makeup is being done by the same girl. Her price is $350 which includes the trial. No extra cost for her to come to me. I am just paying for myself and letting my bridal party decide if they want professional hair and/or makeup which is $75 for each one.

Can you tell me who is doing your hair and make up? I am getting married in Hebron, IL (close to Lake Geneva, WI).
