Hair/makeup pricing

CourtneyBrittain, on April 24, 2019 at 11:58 PM Posted in Hair and Makeup 0 19
Anyone know an average price of a good hair/makeup artist? I know it’ll vary somewhat based on what they offer and where you/they live but I wondered what you were quoted. I want to be sure I don’t get quoted super crazy high prices. TIA!

SF Bay Area - I’m paying $300 without trial and that’s probably on the lower/average end

San Diego, CA. Prices for Makeup only- I took my time and researched/asked friends and family that I trust who they used. I lucked out and found a friend of my cousins that does it professionally, but is still building a portfolio. Her prices are extremely reasonable and her work is spot on! $30 trail, $60 bride, $50 each for bridesmaids/moms.

I'm paying $125 for hair and makeup, which I'll have to pay for the trial and day of. The wedding day travel fee is $100 since it's about an hour away or more from her. And I'm in South Carolina.

My hair and makeup was done in a salon (next door to our hotel, about 5 minutes from our ceremony venue) and for my hair and makeup (plus tip and a few of the products they used on me) it was around $200. Oh, and I should mention this was in the Chicago suburbs.

I'm paying $375 for wedding day hair (two looks, one for ceremony and one for reception) make up and rehearsal dinner hair. Including tip, it will be around $500.00 total. They are charging $85.00 per Bridesmaid for hair (which we will be paying for) and $85.00 for make-up (I'm leaving that up to each maid as a choice they will pay for individually). Mothers are $100.00 each for hair and $100.00 for make up and $45.00 for my JBM's hair.

Any chance you would be willing to share who you chose for hair/makeup? I am also getting married in San Diego and having a hard time finding any artists that fit within our budget! Smiley smile

I ended up going with a family friend. The pricing there I believe was from Aimee Daily Artistry in the McKinney, TX area.

If memory serves correctly, that was both hair & makeup.
